Characterizing O'Donnell as white hot is dead on! I was particularly facinated by O'Donnell's choice to read Trump's words re. mifepristone. It was a brilliant choice! Hearing O'Donnell - 72, cognitively intact, and at the top of his game - read those words and use the precise inflections used by Trump really drove home how unhinged Donald Trump has become! We all need more of these choices!

Lawrence is my favorite pundit, not because we are the same age and grew up in the same state (Massachusetts) but because he has depth, he has skills, and he is simply a good man.

Yesterday’s event was not a press conference. It was a staged reality TV event in which the media who covered it were props and/or complicit in this ongoing false narrative of this being news. The real news is that more citizens are now seeing it for what it truly is.

It’s worse this time because he’s running full fascist and he’s still being treated by the press as a normal candidate.

Lawrence O'Donnell's critique of that so called news conference is perhaps the best thing I have ever viewed on TV.

Thank you, Mary.

Done, DONE with corporate media. What a shameful bunch. Much gratitude to folks like Lawrence O'Donnell and many here on Substack who expose corporate media's refusal to be balanced and to call out the lies.

Waaaay back in 2015/16 there was a guest on msnbc who was PLEADING with press and media to beware of β€˜normalization’ of Trump. And then they spent the rest of the run up to the election doing just that!🀬

''But Lawrence O’Donnell is rightβ€”yesterday felt like 2016 all over again. And that is not a good thing.''

It isn't but again what we have to worry about is this: Another 'Stop the Steal' movement on the state certification level that ends up in SCOTUS. Donald did say "I don't need your votes."

Agree! I’ve been so worried and full of anxiety feeling that there is no plan for what will be done when Insurrection 2.0 starts happening.😩

Is there a plan???

The only benefit is that people can see for themselves how decrepit he has become. Otherwise, I am in principle against giving him any coverage to lie.

I think he should keep spewing his craziness, so sane people will not vote that criminal

"Trump Spews Lies, Disparages Harris’s Intelligence, Insults Jews, and Rambles About β€œInsane Asylums” in Unhinged Press Conference

He did little to quell reports that he is melting down over Harris’s poll numbers."

---Vanity Fair Headline after the press conference yesterday

Now this is the kind of headline we need more of since 2016. Thank you Mary for always telling it like it is. and reminding us this is not a normal election. The MSM sure does love to watch a car crash more than boring topics like saving our Republic.

P.S. My humble suggestion when covering live events is to pause and fact check the stream to be sure points are made at the proper intervals before resuming. That's how people watch TV at home so why not do the same with news events. Thank you.

With Donald the networks should simply use their robust digital delay capabilities. Donald lies: hit pause and counter the lie. Once countered, hit play and immediately pause, to counter the next lie. Better still, edit out each lie Donald utters / stammers. Then play only demonstrably factual statements -- assuming there are any.

I think they should have a big red horn and blast the sound every time he lies.

The differences between today and 2016 is 1) we recognize this dysfunction in MSM this time around and are much more aggressive in calling them out and 2) it won’t result in a don-old election BECAUSE we’re so aggressive in our efforts to highlight this inequity in MSM reporting about the election.

I wish VP Harris had only agreed to one debate. That’s all it will take to show Democrats that, yes, we will reject Trump. Anything more is just giving him free publicity.
