They could play the role of Manchin/Sinema in the House and actually wield tremendous power given the margins. Also, I've been a bit appalled to watch people like Byron Donalds, Lauren Boebert, and Marjorie Taylor-Greene being invited to "mainstream" media shows and being normalized. It is insane, but I seriously doubt they will screw around with the debt ceiling, that did not work out very well for them the last time they did it. I think the last election showed, if we didn't know it before, how very important it is to vote. I support universal voting or, if you will, mandatory voting. I am sick and tired of folks not voting for whatever lame reason they have in their heads. I agree with you that there is no such thing as a moderate Republican, they are either ultra-right-wing, fanatical religious right, too much of a coward to do what is right or just plain in need of mental help. They are all traitors because they violate the oath of office they take every single day, some very single minute. It is a joke, not because they do it, but because they are never held accountable for doing it.; by accountable I mean either expelled or legally held accountable.

The Omnibus Bill pays for Govt Through September 2024, The Only Harmful Financial Issue left is debt ceiling. Oh Mary! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You’ve put to clear & simple words everything I’ve grappled with, questioned, decried and abhorred for years now. The media inspired notions of “conservative” & “liberal” have insulted, confused and infuriated me for so long, and yet they’ve “normalized” something that isn’t normal - treason. All the while insinuating, implying, suggesting & validating treason as “conservative”. Even the more recent shift in some quarters to “fascist” or “fascistic” didn’t begin to encapsulate the real meaning of the “no policy” politics of these so called “conservatives” for me. But you’ve hit the nail squarely on the head with treason. For treasonous is what they are are, undemocratic - more importantly anti-democratic puts a fine point on the nail. And you rightly clarify where Liz Cheney stands amidst all the wreckage. For all her courage in standing up to the insurrectionists and to the treasonous Trump, she has been in the vanguard, leading us to this day by virtue of her stance toward living, breathing human beings who are citizens and those worthy of their wish to be so-an elitist voting to further enrich the rich at the expense of “the other”, any other like her. She didn’t even accept her own sister as worthy of respect & positive regard because of her sexual orientation (I base this on public statements she made in the past). It’s all more than I, for one, can bear - and yet, you’ve articulated all these conflicted self interests swirling about us, destroying us, in a clear, simple straightforward manner. Sometimes I think we may be able to make sense of what’s happening to us nationally & internationally, so as to move forward with liberty & justice for all. You give me hope that we may be able to do so, by realizing that “conservative” values have little to do with hateful animosities based simply on individual personal greed, ambition and contempt for the most vulnerable or the different/differences among us, without regard for the inherent beauty of life and the intrinsic needs for shelter, security, safety, food, warmth or dignity of all humans, without the need to control every thought or wish of another, without the stated desire & intent to subvert truth and dignity for personal gain without honor or any concept there of.
