Thanks for the Wallace Stevens Poem.

Here is another

The Snowman-

One must have a mind of winter

To regard the frost and the boughs

Of the pine-trees crusted with snow;

And have been cold a long time

To behold the junipers shagged with ice,

The spruces rough in the distant glitter

Of the January sun; and not to think

Of any misery in the sound of the wind,

In the sound of a few leaves,

Which is the sound of the land

Full of the same wind

That is blowing in the same bare place

For the listener, who listens in the snow,

And, nothing himself, beholds

Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is.

Blackbird Haiku

(In honor of Wallace Stevens)

A blackbird showed up

Reminding me to listen

Notice and observe

Merry Christmas to all

Hope your day was peaceful. Thanks for being a bold brave voice in our frightening dystopia.

Thank you so much for everything you do to help us try to make sense of this troubling time in which we find ourselves. May you be blessed with joy and may we all see much needed healing in the year to come. Your pets are adorable. Merry Christmas!

Thanks! You as well!

I never heard of Blackbirds,

I had to google them.

Very visual, I thought, and beautiful,

Eating Sheetz from a paper bag,

In a parking lot at night.

Thirteen was my favorite,

Though all of them were cool!

Sorry, I couldn't resist having some fun. I never knew of Wallace Stevens, and what a great way to discover him. I Really enjoyed it! Thanks!

(Time to drive home!)

The first three lines of XIII put me into the scene, then the last two added the final visual. I'd been there a hundred times and could see it with my eyes closed. I'm not done with 'Blackbirds' yet... there's so much to consider. I'll be looking at VIII and all of it again!

Another which made me pause was IV. Simple, true and profound.

Yep, made it home, but currently sleepless. Darla Dewdrop, one of our cats, is sleeping between our pillows!!😸 Take care!

”We are stardust… billion year old carbon … we are golden …caught in the devil’s bargain … and we got to get ourselves back to the garden” (Joni Mitchell) Resounding voices of birds together; with truth & grace; as we flock to democracy! Merriest Season's tweets & treats to Sebastian. And of course to dearest YOU, Mary! (Plus the Cattrix; ZZZZZZZZZ; snoring).

I always love the animal photos! Had friends over who started a Meditation Center here, Randy & Mark; went for a walk between meal & dessert. What a lovely three hours!
