I keep forgetting the time difference and had meant to post this before midnight E.T. After only two days in Los Angeles I find myself missing New York—which is odd because I’m usually happy to be wherever I am. I’m beginning to think the time of COVID has made me not just more introverted but less willing to venture outside of my comfort zone (the size of which has, in turn, also shrunk).
But here I am and the live, in-person show is tomorrow night. It’s time.
I understand that. The need to be home wherever that is and however we define that has become even more essential. A safe haven a place where we can trust, and feel we can be ourselves .
I too am feeling less willing to venture out! These have been strange almost 3 years. I recharging my batteries right now and reflecting a lot right now. I am part of the activist group called the Atelier at Gaia (found by Elizabeth Cronise McLaughlin - leadership guru, lawyer, author) -- it's a fantastic community, great place to share ideas and collaborate and anyone can join), and we are talking about "reinvention" -- who are we really and how can we make a difference. I wish I could attend your show, Mary, but alas I'm in Portland. I hope you make it up here next year. Thanks for all you are doing for our Democracy and to make the world a better place.
