We can see Trump for who he is - unhinged, unfit, rapidly decomposing, deeply into paranoia and dementia, lying incessantly and totally full of shit. We need to make this about him and his abject failure as a leader. We need to make this about the Republicans who are more concerned with re-election than the country. We need to make this about the damage this orange motherfucker and his illegal South African immigrant co-president are doing to the country. Time to get off the floor and take the fight to them. Starting with doing everything we can to drive Tesla into bankruptcy. Elmo is $111B poorer today because the stock price is down 30% in a month. Keep up the pressure on investors and owners. My son is the most wonderful man I know and bought a Tesla years ago, and he despises Trump and Musk and Vance and all the other idiots in Trump's cabinet. Your comment is very important. It brought to mind something totally unrelated that happened in Colorado Springs many years ago. There has always been a strong "anti-Nebraska" feeling among Colorado football fans. One night a woman's 4 tires were all slashed while she was shopping.... simply because she had University of Nebraska decals on her car. She was pregnant, alone in a parking lot at night, when she discovered this. Her husband wrote a scathing letter to the editor (back when they encouraged citizens to express themselves in newspapers) about how frightened she was when it happened. People seem to get a kick out of damaging the property of their "enemies." It's not right, and it's not a solution to anything. I'm as angry as anyone about the current state of our government, its so-called leaders, and the uninformed electorate. But if I resort to vandalism or putting another person in danger, I'm no better than the people I hate.

Now I'm finding that people just do not take me seriously mostly because I am A. female and B. Democrat, but that's okay. I still get out there and talk to people. Wednesday, 2/19 -- it was my niece's 47th birthday. (I can hardly believe it! She was a baby just yesterday!) So I called her to wish her a happy birthday. (Oops! That was the day before.)
Thursday, 2/20 -- I can't remember.
Friday, 2/21 -- This is so embarrassing! I can't remember what I did on Friday, either!
Saturday, 2/22 -- Now, THAT I remember. I spent the whole day going through a lot of papers.
Sunday, 2/23 -- That is today, so I do remember what I did. Some very nice young men carried the files of papers I'd worked on yesterday, and put them in a storage unit for me. They were so sweet.
So that's it. Let me know if you need any more information.

Actually, for me time is going much slower. I was SO busy for so many years (full time psychiatrist, i.e., 60 h/week + 24/7 on-call, supporting the family, plus caring for my wonderful handicapped daughter who required/to whom I happily gave 40 h/week. So there was never a free minute). Now I have SOOO much time on my hands. Regarding memories from childhood, there are so many moments which are so vivid in my mind -- even one memory from when I was still an infant in my crib; others back to age 2 -- that it's amazing! Some bad memories, and they are also vivid. But lots more good memories.

My group of almost 90 people (87 of them women, all over 40) is back to writing postcards to voters, this time about the Wisconsin Supreme Court election. I'm going to every protest and rally I can. I had hundreds of buttons that say, simply, RESIST, printed up and I'm handing them out for free. We need to ALL work together to save our country.
So many postcards, fliers, door knocking etc. Do we need new tactics? I want to do more than what I've been doing. As those certainly did not have an impact toward maintaining democracy.
We don't know that they had no impact. In fact, though I eschew conspiracies, I'm not convinced that the Dems actually lost; we don't know how deep Musk's incel team got into the ballot machines. But postcards have a 1% impact, according to studies; it doesn't sound like much, but it can make a difference. If you can suggest other tactics, other than buying elections like Elon, I'd love to try them.
The techbroligarchs and coup d'etat planners had four years, essentially unlimited money, and inside help from red and swing state elections apparatuses to subvert the election. they did this by stealing the coding for the voting machines in states where they're used and rewriting the code to perform whatever functions (many ways to do it) they wanted it to. they did this by bribing, extorting, and enlisting willing elections workers in red and swing states, they did this by essentially, and incrementally over time, replacing the election infrastructure in the states with their own. this is why dumpster said "you (we) won't need to vote anymore" or in another case, in extremely bored tone, "i don't need your votes". there were other similar statements. There has always been a strong "anti-Nebraska" feeling among Colorado football fans. One night a woman's 4 tires were all slashed while she was shopping.... simply because she had University of Nebraska decals on her car. She was pregnant, alone in a parking lot at night, when she discovered this. Her husband wrote a scathing letter to the editor (back when they encouraged citizens to express themselves in newspapers) about how frightened she was when it happened. People seem to get a kick out of damaging the property of their "enemies." It's not right, and it's not a solution to anything. I'm as angry as anyone about the current state of our government, its so-called leaders, and the uninformed electorate. But if I resort to vandalism or putting another person in danger, I'm no better than the people I hate.

Wednesday, 2/19 -- it was my niece's 47th birthday. (I can hardly believe it! She was a baby just yesterday!) So I called her to wish her a happy birthday. (Oops! That was the day before.)
Thursday, 2/20 -- I can't remember.
Friday, 2/21 -- This is so embarrassing! I can't remember what I did on Friday, either!
Saturday, 2/22 -- Now, THAT I remember. I spent the whole day going through a lot of papers.
Sunday, 2/23 -- That is today, so I do remember what I did. Some very nice young men carried the files of papers I'd worked on yesterday, and put them in a storage unit for me. They were so sweet.

Actually, for me time is going much slower. I was SO busy for so many years (full time psychiatrist, i.e., 60 h/week + 24/7 on-call, supporting the family, plus caring for my wonderful handicapped daughter who required/to whom I happily gave 40 h/week. So there was never a free minute). Now I have SOOO much time on my hands. Regarding memories from childhood, there are so many moments which are so vivid in my mind -- even one memory from when I was still an infant in my crib; others back to age 2 -- that it's amazing! Some bad memories, and they are also vivid. But lots more good memories.

My group of almost 90 people (87 of them women, all over 40) is back to writing postcards to voters, this time about the Wisconsin Supreme Court election. I'm going to every protest and rally I can. I had hundreds of buttons that say, simply, RESIST, printed up and I'm handing them out for free. We need to ALL work together to save our country.
So many postcards, fliers, door knocking etc. Do we need new tactics? I want to do more than what I've been doing. As those certainly did not have an impact toward maintaining democracy.
We don't know that they had no impact. In fact, though I eschew conspiracies, I'm not convinced that the Dems actually lost; we don't know how deep Musk's incel team got into the ballot machines. But postcards have a 1% impact, according to studies; it doesn't sound like much, but it can make a difference. If you can suggest other tactics, other than buying elections like Elon, I'd love to try them.

The techbroligarchs and coup d'etat planners had four years, essentially unlimited money, and inside help from red and swing state elections apparatuses to subvert the election. they did this by stealing the coding for the voting machines in states where they're used and rewriting the code to perform whatever functions (many ways to do it) they wanted it to. they did this by bribing, extorting, and enlisting willing elections workers in red and swing states, they did this by essentially, and incrementally over time, replacing the election infrastructure in the states with their own. this is why dumpster said "you (we) won't need to vote anymore" or in another case, in extremely bored tone, "i don't need your votes". there were other similar statements. Remember how demented and bored and idiotic he was on the campaign trail this past summer? that was all deflection, distracting everyone from the astonishing sleight of hand going on. note his demeanor and presence now. it's completely different, isn't it. Remember also that the states conduct elections, not the federal gov't. this makes every election theoretically subject to systemic manipulation and fraud. Which is why we used to have the voting rights act before the corrupt6 court emasculated it. because, y'know states' rights to conduct fraudulent elections and voter suppression. Finally, any expectation that this can be righted at the next "election" is seriously delusional. the techbroligarchs won. AI will only solidify it all.

I'm an election worker and I'd swear on a stack of Bibles (meaningless, because I don't believe they're sacred) that our elections are fair and that no one can vote who isn't supposed to. I continue to be perplexed at the wimpy responses that Democrats (exceptions AOC, Warren, Murphy, and others) make to Trump. I’m astonished at some of the reactions to Senator Slotkin’s response to Trump last night; they think she gave a great speech! The following sentence (or something like it) is always missing: “When you go to buy a new car in 2025 and find it costs $5000-$10000 more than you expected BLAME DONALD TRUMP. His idiotic tariffs are making you poorer.” Make it personal! If the roles were reversed (Democratic President with Democrats controlling both houses of Congress) does anyone believe that Republicans would NOT make it personal?

Today I left the Democratic party and re-registered as No Party Affiliation. The only path I see out of this quagmire is the end of the two-party system. No one has a spine. Everyone is self-serving.

I haven’t given up either! I believe we’ll find a way to make things better. I went to a protest yesterday, and it was great. I had a fight with a MAGA cousin last night and felt a little bleak at the MAGA stupidity and the cruelness, but also at their inability to see any nuance. Then I blocked my cousin. Felt like high school. But also felt good. What a world.
I really hope we find a good Democratic firebrand for this moment we’re in. And SOON.

I can't imagine how difficult it was for you to watch that Trump production in Congress last night Mary. The thought of it made me so sick I couldn't watch. I am also so sad to learn that Volodymyr Zelensky feels no other option than to cave in to the bullies! Where are all those wonderful European leaders who committed to stand behind Ukraine? Where's all the Russian confiscated assets that could have been used to oppose Putin, instead of needing to continue bowing down to America's traitors? If Trump is, indeed, a Russian asset, how can he not be arrested for treason? Are we ruled by the billionaires or by the constitution and the rule of law?
Those leaders all announced that they are behind Ukraine today. I feel so disgusted by Trump and his crush on that monster Putin!

I watched your media..putting myself in the torture chamber. Your reactions I felt too. We 60d hippies warned of the fascist theocracy and our solutions actually were working. Air and water cleaned up,alternative living, alternative energy. We fought against Nixons war and corruption and tried to extol a way toward inner peace, healthy organic farming and lifestyles but most of all the intolerable cruelty of of the ongoing war against nature. Then Reagan and his greedy Corporate army stormed our capitol and now their goal of privatization and deregulation to eviserate our lands is at hand. Ask any Indian or Hawaiian. I'm about to loose my job as a teacher, my social security and medical aide. It will leave me homeless. A man with nothing to loose is beyond dangerous. Go ask any Ukrainian soldier. I think its inevitable we will have to become that fierce.
