The Judge should jail him now, because Donny will have jr & Eric making media posts for him.

Why are the Judges tippytoeing around some severe actions that any average person would Incur?

Could it possibly be because he is a white wealthy male? He's a treasonous , asswipe of a pseudo monster, put him in prison before a Judge, prosecutor or somebody gets blown away by a maga shit brain.

Expand full comment
Susan Burgess's avatar

I think the tippytoeing around is to put time and factual information on Donald’s crimes out to the general public. They want to keep the temperature down and prevent any civil unrest or retaliation by giving him all these chances they would give no one else. Now it feels to me as though the turning point is upon us for the courts to downshift and accelerate on the ungrateful son of a bitch.

He really should throw him in jail if he messes around BUT I'm sure the judge is concerned about how that is done when the person has Secret Service protection. If he's convicted, that is one thing, but if he's jailed for contempt, that is usually pretty spur of the moment in court and there may not be a mechanism in place.

There are ways to work around everything it just hasn't ever been done before.

Like a past president being a total threat to democracy an insurrectionist evil person so I believe we thr people need protection from him and his secret service protection should be revoked

Or the orange piece if ahit can have his own cell and secret service can sit outside the door

Seriously

Justice needs to be served.

I find this so ironic! My 100% service-connected disabled Navy veteran husband (and any veteran receiving benefits) forfeits all benefits forever if convicted of a felony! I would settle for them just taking away his secret service protection-we’re paying a fortune for him to have that privilege, so if a regular retired military person or someone receiving VA disability pay can have their benefits revoked even though they actually SERVED their country, surely we can take away SS protection from a conman who has done nothing but grift from this country! (Of course, if convicted TFG WOULD lose his right to vote- it’s doubtful that he’s ever exercised that right except to vote for himself-but just being able to see his face when he’s told that a convicted felon can’t vote OR ever go to Canada!)

::By taking away Donald’s ability to go on the attack against court staff and witnesses, Merchan is inadvertently stripping Donald of one of his go-to tools to keep his base angry and try to make inroads with disillusioned independents.::

I don't think it's at ALL "inadvertent"—I think Judge Merchan knows just what he's doing, and is letting your narcissistic sociopath uncle (there's one in every family—but most get stopped! hard long before they get to the point yours did) know that he won't be able to rile up his base without serious consequences like jail time. Not that it will make any difference to HIM—until he's behind bars without any access to social media!

Of course, he'll probably get his lawyers or other mouthpieces to whine FOR him, but I doubt it will have the same effect.

::Imagines Donald Trump writing his own version of *Mein Kampf*...on grade school lined paper...in crayon....::

::Starts laughing uncontrollably as my cat backs away from me, arching his back and hissing::

EDIT: Look! I got OpenAI to make me a picture of Trump writing his book in crayon!

If Donald were treated like 99% of perpetrators, he would already be in jail. He gets special cushy, privileged treatment. The legal system needs to recognize tRump is a legitimate danger to society, just as if he had a gun in his hand. Organized crime bosses get jailed; Donald shouldn't be treated any better.

Also, he's so desperate for cash that I received a text this afternoon about how the radical Democrats want to seize his properties. That's as far as I got before the message was deleted but you can bet there was a call for cash somewhere in that annoying, unwelcome text. In the meantime, social media continues to help by working overtime to support Trump's art of the steal and his non-stop grift.

There's something I don't understand. If Donald were truly the strongman he claims to be, why is he always whining about being a victim? You can't have it both ways. Either he's terribly strong and impervious to attacks or he's a victim of people stronger than he is. I guess his supporters are as irrational as he is or they'd see the contradiction.

Cyndi Reed's avatar

The irony of narcissists! They pretend to be a strongman, however they are some of the weakest personalities in the world. I'd like to share your enthusiasm for tRump to settle down and mind his manners. However, we all know he does not have the capacity to do that. His unhinged mental health and severe narcissism do not allow him to operate in this world. He lives in another orbit far, far from humans. He's created his own mental universe and lives there (maybe the third ring of Saturn). He cannot live and interact with other human beings. I had high hopes that Judge Engoron would put him in jail after threatening him several times. But alas, nothing. Fines and more fines, but no incarceration, which would shut him up. I don't think Judge Merchan will jail him, either. For some reason, all men are deathly afraid of him. A wimpy man like tRump does not deserve that kind of deference.
