After U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell said that Shaye Moss and Ruby Freeman could begin immediately collecting their $148 million judgment, Giuliani responded today by filing for bankruptcy.

But here is the question everyone is asking:

Can Rudy get out of paying what he owes?

Legal experts say Rudy won’t be able to avoid this historic judgment. Filing for bankruptcy does not overturn the verdict.

Attorney John Langford told MSNBC that attorneys for Moss and Freeman are “going to work diligently to track down every asset that he has, work to ensure that what he has rightly goes to Ruby and Shaye for what he owes them.”

Even if Rudy is forced to pay just a fraction of the judgment, it will be financially ruinous for the former mayor.

Former US Attorney Barb McQuade appeared on MSNBC and explained what happens next:

“His wages could be garnished and his profits disorged,” she told MSNBC, “but he can’t avoid paying Ms Freeman and Ms Moss – even if he declares bankruptcy – unless he can get the verdict thrown out on appeal.”

There’s more bad news for Rudy

Vile radio host Alex Jones recently filed for bankruptcy after his defamation verdict for defaming—and endangering the lives of—the families of the Sandy Hook tragedy.

In his case, judges ruled that Jones could not use bankruptcy protections in order to avoid paying what he owed. He has now applied for a payment plan that will send multiple millions of dollars to the families each year.

What now?

Rudy’s assets will be dissected and scoured and he will pay a tremendous price for holding Donald’s water. He will be remembered now as one more pathetic man who who lost everything just so he could be Donald’s lapdog and remain connected to power.

I don’t know about you, but I find it heartening that Donald’s accomplices are finally starting to get their comeuppance. The walls are closing in and justice is coming.
