I would not worry too much yet; it’s early; so much chaos; these are two old geezers fighting it out and now dear Biden has baggage too with the wars ; one or both could drop dead before next year; who knows who the candidates will ultimately be?
People age biologically at very different rates. Biden is biologically 10-15 years younger than his chronological age. He is lucid and sharp, and even when he's flying around the world to confer wth multiple leaders in different time zones he's sharp as a tack. He's the best president of my lifetime--which began during the first summer of the Eisenhower Administration. A commenter on Boston Public Radio, colloquially known as the Jim and Margery show made the very astute comment that Biden is very close with his family members, and that if any of them thought he was getting too old to be president they would tell him, and he would not run again.
I agree; he is my hero. I only fear the genocide in Gaza has cost too much support. I hope explanations and forgiveness will be forthcoming but I worry that we’ve lost the critical youth vote and are now considered warmongers. I don’t know how we get past that.
The election is still almost a year away. We've done far better than expected on every election since 2018. We do have a lot of work to do, but that's been the case with each of the elections and we've come out ahead.

Actually, I agree with Daniel’s assessment. In terms of physicality. Trump is a misogynistic, narcissistic, sociopathic, greedy, lying, power hungry, money grubbing slug who cares for no one but himself and has promised us FASCISM IN GOVERNANCE if elected as per Project 2025. And if he gets there, he will never leave and we will send the end of our Democratic Republic and the freedoms we enjoy. On the other hand, Biden is a caring compassionate leader who works for “we the people” in the best way he can given the rotten hand he has been dealt repeatedly through his tenure in office. He is working around a Speaker of the House who is a Christian Nationalist Fascist who helped Trump plan the insurrection and carries as much baggage as Trump, just on a more agreeable and younger body. His shenanigans remain to be seen but you can look forward to those. Biden’s accomplishments have been many and I will not enumerate here. I do not believe there are many who would argue his support of the Ukrainian people to keep their sovereign nation. There are three issues which could be problematic in a second term, some unfinished business and then the disaster that is the genocide in Gaza perpetuated by Netanyahu against the terrorists group HAMAS. Unfinished business included border security, an issue that has been the albatross of many presidents preceding Biden. (Including of course immigration policy.) Voting rights are all over the place; saw a few minutes ago a blurb across my TV screen that the SCOTUS has ruled policy should be national, not according to states rights, but don’t hold me to that....it was gone too fast to be sure. The MSM and voters seem to be holding Biden accountable for the tragedy in the Mid East. He has done all in his power to work with many leaders and groups to defuse that situation since 10/07/2023 and yet there are those who would blame him for it since we provide arms to Israel and theoretically could have demanded a ceasefire. He has declined to do so and there is no reason to believe the sketchy at best Netanyahu would have agreed to halt the killing of everyone in site of an Israeli weapon; innocent Palestinians, citizens, families, children, who stood between HAMAS and the Israeli armies. They have exterminated about half the population at last count in my estimation by using them as human shields 🛡️for HAMAS. The terrorists were simply bursting out of a concentration camp where they have existed since 1948 or before where colonizing and imperialistic countries sought to exploit their resources by promising them their religious homeland and reneging on every treaty signed. There is so much history and so many details on both sides, the only thing anyone has learned is that there must be a two state solution when this episode of bloodshed ceases.
So we are left with two men vying to be president in 2024; of similar age, the younger being in apparently lesser health and more corrupt than any candidate or president in memory. We would find ourselves living in a country we do not recognize should he acquire the keys to the White House again.
Or Biden whose compassion is real, who is in a position to be blamed for things he did or did not get accomplished thus far in his first term, who now must carry a heavier load and speak loudly with a message that will resonate with young people and other groups who fault him for some decisions on climate, failures thus far to “fix” the borders with a magic trick, and yet hail his work in regaining foreign allies and partners, and recognize that the religious factions in the mid east have been fighting since time began and likely will continue long after all of us are dust.
There is still time for Trump the felon to be convicted and jailed or Biden to declare his legacy might be best served by finishing the business at hand without the additional stress of campaigning in his fourth year. Polls tell us nothing but dinner time speculation. They are worthless and have no way to keep up with events unfolding in a media that is not always useful and sometimes counter to progress. Opinions do not matter. Elections do.
