The democratic leadership needs to change now. There must be a way to '25th Amendment' Schumer and the rest of the Fascist-appeasers in the Democratic Party.....

Hound's avatar

It was 25th amendment time when he was running in 2016. But worse than Donald send and now are the MAGATS who pretended to believe his lies and ignored his depravity and then spread his lies. When Hillary said that 50% of them are deplorable the only thing she got wrong is that it’s a lot more than 50% that are deplorable.

Susan Mercurio's avatar

I did the math and the MAGAts are 23% of the population, not 50%. Don't exaggerate.

Hound's avatar

They are at least 50% of the voters.

The children of MAGATS are by Nature and nurture MAGATS.

So if you think it’s only 23% your math is off. Either that or the snowflake liberals spend more time bitching about Trump and his criminal regime then they do getting their lazy asses out and folding.

So with your mathematical calculations can you tell me how many non-MAGATS there are?

Hillary Clinton said and referring to Trump supporters, she’s at 50% of them are deplorable. What she should’ve said is that 100% of them are deplorable because anyone who supports Trump is deplorable.

So explain where you get your 23% number and then tell us what the percentage of the population of non-MAGATS are. 100 - 23 = 77. Check my math.

If I am correct and 77% of Americans or American voters, are non-MAGAT, it would be nearly impossible for any MAGA republican to get elected anywhere.

Joyce T. SMITH's avatar

So you seriously believe that they were actually elected, not selected, by oligarch technology? I don't. If Astronauts can vote from space via Starlink, what other tech-niques might Musk's toy be capable of, one MUST wonder. Not to mention the million$$$$ poured in, to reinforce the brainwashing of low-info voters.

Hound's avatar

It certainly is possible that Elon Musk rigged the election But then again there are the paper ballots that you fill out and fill in the dots.

As far as the lying by Republicans goes, they’ve always done that and they’ve been allowed to do it. Of course lying to the voters his fraud and the truest sense. Low information voters or the blissfully ignorant are never going to go away. There’s nothing that can be done about the fact that Republican voters have abnormally low IQ.

You said either 23% of Americans are MAGATS or were you saying that 23% of voters are MAGATS?

Please clarify this. How many non-MAGATS are in the US? How many non-MAGATS voted or actually vote.

I was a campaign worker for Hillary and from when I saw her campaign was run horribly. I was working the phones and by then everybody had a cell phone so people were not picking up their phones because they didn’t know who was calling. Everybody in the phone bank was wasting their time. We should’ve been in the streets handing out pamphlets and knocking on doors. It was a huge disgusting waste of resources. In spite of that Hillary won the popular vote by over 3 million votes.

One of the most undemocratic pieces of shit is electoral college and the assholes in Washington will never get rid of the electoral college because it’s a money maker for a media Because instead of campaigning to all Americans and actual people, the campaigns in the message is directed to the states. In a democracy the person with the most votes is a person who is supposed to win. Given that fact, the United States has never really been a democracy. The United States has always been some corporate piece of shit That caters to the filthy rich. Maybe the real reason the colonies broke away from England was because a bunch of rich white men didn’t want to pay taxes.

Susan Mercurio's avatar

I don't listen to anything that that ghoul, Hillary Clinton, says. She is a warmonger, a grifter, and a brass-faced liar.

Hound's avatar

On the fact check sites when she was running against Trump and there was fact checking of the primaries. The two most honest people were Hillary and the Republican John Kasich. The biggest liar of course was the pedophile in chief Donald Trump. Little Marco was a lying sack of pus and the biggest liar next to Trump was lying Ted Cruz.

Hillary isn’t someone I’d wanna hang around with but I think she would’ve been a really good president. I have spoken with her on a conference call When she was running for Senate in New York. She’s a tough tough woman who doesn’t take shit.

Michael's avatar

Wow, you just described the felon in that sentence. Hillary was right about the felon. And now the felon is doing what Hillary was accused of, using a non-secured for of gov information, he is posting it on his failing social network. The felon is a warmonger, he tried Greenland, was talked out of it, now he is going after Iran, I hope your children are too old for the service, because we are going to war.

NONSENSE !! ARANT NONSENSE 😠

Susan Mercurio's avatar

They are said to be 77 million. The total population of the US is 330 million. 77 ÷ 300 = 23%.

ramona's avatar

your math is messed up but it doesn't seem math alone can give us this estimate of the number of american citizens who are out of their minds.

there is an easier way to do this estimate.

just look at the polls on issues over decades.

it used to be that 25% of responses were pretty clearly absurd and fascist adjacent. it looks like that number is closer to a third right now. when the electoral college, etc. and the elite kept in power by that college press their fingers on the scales, it seems like almost half of those who vote are insane, which includes most of my living relatives (the ones who struggled through the depression and ww3 are now gone).

Susan Mercurio's avatar

Yet those insane voters carry on about those of us to choose not to vote because the whole electoral system is insane.

Michael's avatar

Your math is way off. It is more like 3.89%

Michael's avatar

77 ÷ 300 = 0.25666666666, but the correct way to do this math is, 300 ÷ 77 = 3.8961038961

Am a registered Independent in AZ who has never and will never vote for Greedy Oligarch Poisoners. Therefore I generally vote Blue; occasionally Green. It's become pretty clear that the majority of Blues in Congress, esp in the House, but certainly in Senate leadership, are not up to the task of opposing MAGAnazi-fascism. Right off the bat: How in G!d's name could any of them have voted to confirm any of the proposed Cabinet, etc, MAGAts❓Remember Neville Chamberlin❓Apparently they do not. But that is who they are. Sickening. Thank G!d there are gutsy Blues & Bernie who have[ been leading the strong Resistance, and following the courageous, loving, brilliant lead of the people of MiniApple and elsewhere.❣️🤗❣️

I have been complaining about the Democrats for years, but everyone else thought of them as Our Saviors.

Believe me, they're not. They just look slightly better compared to Trump - and make no mistake, they capitalize on it.

Trump is the best thing that has happened to the Democrats in years. The longer he remains in power, the longer the Democrats can wring their hands, point their fingers, and do absolutely nothing for us.

The only people they listen to are the people who can come with a million-dollar check to grease their way in the door. All you have is a vote? Forget about it.

"But Trump" they say. If you fall for that, you are as much as cult member as any MAGAt.

Hound's avatar

The shitheads on Capitol Hill are not there to serve the American people even though we are the rightful masters. The actual masters of the scumbags on Capitol Hill are the corporate ruling class members that they serve.

I think the best way to describe a politician would be a do nothing bitch. Can you think of another way to describe them? The only thing I can say for the Democrats collectively is that they are not as bad as Republicans. The lesser of two evils is less evil. One would be a fool not to vote for a Democrat.

Michael's avatar

The felon has done nothing but problems for the people of this country, look at the food prices, look at the housing, how many people has to be murdered by him before you wake up, he has been nothing but a treason felon. No matter how much you like him, he will not like of care for or about you. The way you talk of him, you should read more of what he is doing. Like the war in Iran that is about to break out. Oh, that's right, you claim he does not start wars, but he has helped start 2 and wanted one in Greenland.

Chucky well he was in Congress enriched to himself to the tune of $65 million.

If you search for the net worth of these corporate servants known as congressman and senators, you will be astounded at how rich they got by taking bribes from corporate.

There are committees in the house and Senate called oversight and government reform. It’s all bullshit. How can a corrupt government reform itself especially when it is in their best interest to be corrupt?

If after all those decades of six-figure salaries (currently ~ $174K) Schumer were worth ‘just’ $1.2 million, it would be further proof of his incompetence. I want a leader who knows how to save money.

Susan Mercurio's avatar

Well, then, why doesn't the rest of the party rein him in? It's easy to blame one person, when it's the system itself that is corrupt.

Please note that in the “occupied territories” of Palestine, Palestinians have had ever fewer “rights” for 78 years, and now none. The majority of US citizens have found this “tolerable” or “acceptable”. Or “justified”.

The situation in Minneapolis is appalling. Please understand that a nation (the USA) cannot promote/endorse/enable extreme violence and amorality elsewhere without losing its own moral compass, and soul.

(In solidarity with humanist peacemaking and social justice EVERYWHERE.)

Susan Mercurio's avatar

This is why we who are opposed to what is being done in Gaza say, We are all Palestinians." We knew that the inhumanity would come back and be used on us. And here we are."

Teach84's avatar

Not to mention that the DHS was already overfunded thanks to the BBB (Big Bullshit Bill), so they really won’t need additional funding for a while.

Ruth Sheets's avatar

Teach84, Congress could cancel the funding for DHS and ICE in particular if it wanted to do it, and they should do it. That is how so many of the Biden era programs got dumped. The BBB is crap, pushed through when most of those who voted for it were encouraged not to read it and whatever Donnie wants Donnie gets. The Republicans in office are not the brightest bulbs in any string and were elected for that reason. Having a moral compass was a powerful way to exclude Republican candidates.

Debi's avatar

Exactly - and the GOP congress just keeps shoving through whatever the Orange Turd wants with very little, if any, concern about what these things do to their constituents - the people they allegedly represent. What really irritates me is that all of these folks took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. As far as I can tell, the almost the entire GOP has completely ignored or forgotten that oath - or they have no idea what the Constitution says. I'd love to see those creatures held accountable for every single one of their multitude of violations of their oath.

Ruth Sheets's avatar

Debi, it seems to me that this crop of Republicans from say 2018 onward has been elected specifically to do the bidding of the Toddler-in-chief and will do whatever he tells them to do, even whenhe wasn't in office. Their oaths are irrelevant except when a constituent asks about what they are doing. They have to just say "we were elected to push through the president's plan. Trump didn't even have a plan in his first term and in his second, the plan was "Project 2025, which he of course, lied that he didn't know anything about. is dementia was even bad in 2024, but he knew Project 2025 and the sycophants who wrote and promoted it were going to be his officials (toddler pool) to push it through. They have been doing a pretty good job of pushing it into our faces for the past year and of course our Johnny Roberts and the 6 will follow it as much as they are able, twisting the law and the constitution to make it work for their Baby Donnie and the Heritage Foundation that wrote the plan. The plan is treasonous in its dismissal of everyone but rich white men and the supremacists and christian nationalists who wrote and swallowed the BS whole.

Debi's avatar

You got that right and it infuriates me that those scum are getting away with so much that is hateful and devisive and inhumane. A lot of people in Congress I could at least respect, regardless of our differences in policy specifics, but no more. They have turned into toadies to that Orange cretin. They are so afraid to be the person he says his nasty comments about that they are all twisting themselves and their words into absurd lies about truth in order to keep themselves in the good graces of a demented Nazi POS. They are ultimately the rats on a ship that will soon be sinking and they all know what lies ahead, so most are doing everything possible to keep the cash flowing as long as possible before they have to face their real employers - their constituents - again.

Ruth Sheets's avatar

Debi, and that Republican congressional effort to collect as much money as they can from their oligarchic buddies needs to be shut off with some serious reworking of the tax code from the bottom up so that they will be forced to pay their fair share, way more than they pay now and with fewer loopholes for stuff like their private jets and other luxuries they really don't need. I do wish congress would wake up and Republicans and some Democrats would stop being lapdogs for Trump and/or the too rich oligarchs. It is really pretty disgusting!

Gary Hanks's avatar

Even some members of ICE don't like what they are being asked to do, and how the new poorly trained recruits are acting. The Trump mob needs to be jailed.

Connie Larsen's avatar

Trump n his kkkabinet, admin too!

Hound's avatar

I see has already built a lot of detention centers that allegedly are for undocumented workers but people need to wake up to the fact that, those detention centers are for Americans as well.

Ruth Sheets's avatar

Gary, I hadn't heard that there was any grumbling in the ICE ranks. If there is, I am guessing it is being well-covered-up by our media or Baby Donnie himself so it won't look like at least some ICErs know they are breaking the law and aren't too pleased with it, but will do it anyway, of course.

Susan Mercurio's avatar

Please don't rely on the legacy media for your news. I have seen several videos interviewing the ICE agents who are dissatisfied. Those videos are all on independent sources on YooToobe.

Ruth Sheets's avatar

Susan, I follow independent media but have not encountered those ICErs who supposedly oppose what is going on. It seems to me that if there were a sufficient number of them, even the "legacy" media would have picked it up. What Have those ICErs who oppose the appalling behavior of their colleagues posted any legal opposition or are they just mouthing words they think will get ICE a little more sympathy for those "poor guys who just have to break into people's homes, drag people into the snow, murder US citizens who don't immediately comply?" Anything that happens related to this current regime that claims to oppose its actions, to me, is suspect.

I totally agree. Demand don't negotiate. If we have to deluge the Democrats with phone messages, we'd better do it. No funding DHS until there is PROOF that these cruel violent unlawful immoral tactics cease asap. Shut the government down. That's better than conceding.

Laura A. Drury's avatar

Schumer needs to go. He calls this violent rogue militia “law enforcement”?? A group of poorly trained Proud Boys, pardoned insurrectionists, and un-vetted people, some with criminal records…who have refused to identify themselves, terrorizing neighborhoods, spraying unarmed civilians with pepper spray, tear gas and even bullets. They have murdered U.S. citizens, kidnapped children and families… and locked them up without Due Process, in horrible conditions in concentration camps. People are dying because of ICE. They constantly violate the law and the Constitution. And Schumer wants to “reform” them??? No. ICE needs to be abolished!

Sky Blue's avatar

Occupying Minnesota and soon many more major cities IS just cosplay for what trump and his maga cult regime via ICE are going to do in November.

They ARE going to occupy polling stations to frighten people enough not to come out of their homes on the premise that ICE is "protecting" the voters. Intimidation and cruelty IS their playbook, after all.

Get organized for November NOW! When you go to VOTE take a friend or two or go with a group. If you I'm going to vote by mail, go into the post office have your ballot time stamped and dated and take a picture of it before you mail it. I don't know if it'll help but you will have proof on your phone that you voted on time. Some states have Ballot Tracking, a free service to receive a text or email following your ballot. Sign up for that if you can.

WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER!!!

WELL SHALL and MUST OVERCOME!!

I hope there really is enough “good in us” to deserve better leadership. Your description of the feckless Schumer, sleep walking through each day, makes me miss Nancy Pelosi. Her kind if courageous and straight talk against Donald’s first term was key to holding him accountable for the damage he did and tried to do.

Now there seems no check or balance to his actions, other than a fewer lower court judges and the voters protesting in the streets. Let’s keep the pressure on, here in cyber space and IRL.

Thanks Mary

Today Trump did something that is just getting lost between the cruelty in Minnesota and the Epstein fallout. He literally threatened any country who sells oil to Cuba. Guessing his beef stems from him breaking the law and having his team spend $68,000 there in 1998 trying to make hotel deals, which went against our embargo and was illegal. They failed to make a deal so he’s going to make sure the Cubans don’t have power or electricity like they don’t have enough else to worry about. They don’t have enough food, they often don’t have running water, and their power is already incredibly spotty. His cruelty knows no bounds… and cruelty, combined with mediocre intellect is dangerous.
