It was extraordinary. Loved Hillary’s speech and Warnock’s and ALL of them. Loved the warmth and good feelings and inclusion.

Hillary was on fire last night and fired up the crowd as well 🔥

The ovation for her was spine tingling and the love for her was so palpable and heartfelt. She returned that love in spades and gave the speech of her life for Kamala Harris and all women!

Let’s not forget that Hillary was the first one to beat Trump by numbers.

Also, in another eight years, we just might be seeing the DNC Convention of nominee Jasmine Crockett, in her run for the White House. No one else has so impressed me as presidential material in our up and coming rising stars in the Democratic Party. She's intelligent, articulate, passionate. I hope she runs for Senate in the future.

Can't wait to celebrate Harris/Walz landslide victory wearing this funny Kamala tee on Tuesday, November 5 👇 🤣

Totally agree. Thank you for expounding on the crowd’s reaction of Hilary. One tiny little sad thing happens to my brain sometimes, I go back in time and wonder how much better we’d be if she had won ( particularly in foreign policy and the response to COVID)!

The way things unfolded was “baschert”. Meant to be. Trump’s ascension clarified a lot for all of us.

Expand full comment

Trump's win definitely put a lot of things in perspective and clarified a lot of relationships - mostly for the worse. And certainly removed the illusion that all Americans when in danger will pull together.

Expand full comment

Yes, and isn’t that sad. I remember the response after 9/11-there were a few outliers but mostly it felt like we came together.

Expand full comment

I often think about 9/11 and how all Democrats and Republicans stood together as one the Capital steps to speak out against the terrorists and to remind Americans that United We Stand!

Where is that American spirit today? 😢 I am deeply touched by the responses of the thousands at the Convention. 🙏♥️

I can’t really go with meant to be. It implies a predestination that doesn’t exist ( in my opinion) . Also too many people died from this-if I were one of there relatives “meant to be” would have me really pissed off at God.”

I agree with you Sally--I don't believe in predestination. It doesn't make any sense to me.

I throughly enjoyed the DNC last night and I'm happily anticipating tonight's as well. All the speakers were fantastic!

I often think that. It is tragic that Hillary did not become our president in 2016. Our country and the whole world has suffered greatly because of the Electoral College system we are cursed with. She would’ve been a brilliant president.

Expand full comment

We wouldn't have such an effed up Supreme Court--that's for sure, Sally! And Trump would be a nobody. I don't know what to conclude, and truthfully, I don't think it's possible to know. I think we just need to all get behind Kamala, and do everything we can to make sure she wins, and is inaugurated next Jan. 20th. She certainly has the stuff to make a truly great president. She is far more impressive than I realized before President Biden passed the torch. And he did a helluva good job as President.

I haven't seen Hillary's (two Ls) speech, myself, but I will make sure to see it, and it will make me happy to see her doing the great job I've heard she did.

I'm from Germany, but live since years in London, UK but also lived in FL for several years. I am so excited what's happening now! I am watching the DNC in full this week and cheer you on from across the pond. France has voted against the right, the UK has voted against the corrupt Tories, and you in the States will do the same.

Even before Joe Biden passed on the baton, it felt clear that Trump will not make it. I know Americans from across the States, when you guys make a mistake, you mage a BIG mistake. But you won't make that mistake twice!!! Congratulations ahead of time on Harris/Walz win. Be proud! Respect for how you speak out and sorry what you and your brother had, still have to go through.

Karma's a bitch, and Kamala will win by a landslide. How wonderful that this man will be beaten by a woman, and a woman of colour!!

Best wishes from Europe

It was an emotional night but it wasn't all a "high" for me. I don't imagine I was the only person who looked at Hillary and grieved for what could have been. I have “hope” for the first time in a long time !!!

I also want to “thank you/Mahalo” for all you do and continue to do ! You have inspired me ever since you wrote your book “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man”….it was as if I was reading my own life story (on a smaller scale …but I knew who/what the CON was from day one ). I grew up with mirror images of your Uncle and I have spent a lifetime recovering and helping others recover from Narcissistic trauma. It’s so common …and I wrote the attached to help people understand the consequences and very real danger of electing a “malignant narcissist“ in any government! Mental illness matters !!!

For those of you interested in really “understanding” Trump, Putin, Hitler, Mussolini , Netanyahu and others and how we arrived where we are today … it is critical that we understand the dangers of electing people with the psychological characteristics of “malignant narcissism”

It’s important …remember when Hitler annihilated 11 million innocent people ; think 6 million Jews …3 million Catholics/Christians and 2 million Gays and Atheists /Other and you must recognize the dangers that are intrinsic to this personality type if we ever elect another malignant narcissist to have a position of authority over us . Trump reveres Hitler and he wants to bring back the REICH ! He also wants to annihilate people like me who have the courage to speak out against the insanity he exhibits every day violating his gag order . He calls me “vermin” and promises to “crush” me as one of his first orders of business as President . So much for free speech right ? So much for my Constitutional rights ? 💔

Psychology and Leadership in Politics are NOT separate topics …these are not innocuous things; Politics and SANE leadership is critical to the very survival of democracy and humanity itself !!!

When Trump played “chicken” with a madman by the name of Kim Jong Un and taunted him with our “nuclear button” he put everyone in the world at risk !!! His EGO is a clear and present danger to democracy and humanity itself …the thought of this man ever having access to nuclear codes again should terrify us all ; WORDS MATTER /SANITY MATTERS .

In Mary Trump’s book , she explains it all ! She is Trump’s niece and a Clinical Psychologist and the Title of her book ; Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man! tells it like it is .

Therefore , I believe we must not “just vote blue” we must have the conversations with our STILL TRUMPER friends and families and make them understand what is at risk .

We must help them understand WHY” they would continue to support a “textbook malignant narcissist “ like Trump …”WHY” is he a role model for them????!!!!!

IMHO …The sad reality is; they have suffered at the hands of someone just like him …he is their “NORMAL”!

The simple adage “Children learn what they live” is very true and I believe we are divided right now because of it ; 50% of homes think “NARCISSISM” is their “NORMAL” and 50% know “EMPATHY” as their “NORMAL”.

One of my friends told me not so long ago …she “didn’t trust Biden because he was too nice “. Further discussion revealed her dad ; a very successful businessman was a raging alcoholic behind closed doors . He belittled and abused his wife (her mother) and was one of the “macho” guys that’s”grab em’ by the pussy” wasn’t offensive to him . (He obviously doesn’t care about his three daughters 🙄🙄) FYI -my friend is one of the sweetest and most intelligent people you could meet but when it comes to identifying narcissistic behaviors/patterns she just couldn’t see it; so she married someone just like her dad!!! She has since divorced the man and is married now to an incredible man who knows empathy is a strength and not a weakness. My friend has a happy life these days but she had to look at “past traumas” in order to break the cycle of accepting the “unacceptable” behavior she watched her own mother accept; she had to learn how to love herself where her own mother had not learned that lesson.

These days I equate Republicans with Narcissism and Democrats with empathy and for any of you Religious Right zealots out there …guess which party Jesus Christ would support??

IMHO Malignant Narcissism is the most important topic on the table today; if you lack EMPATHY ….you lack UNDERSTANDING and without UNDERSTANDING there can be no JUSTICE and without JUSTICE there can be no PEACE!!! It’s as simple as that!!!

The ONLY choice in November..if you care about democracy and sane leadership is KAMALA HARRIS & TIM WALZ !

Together We All Rise In A BIG BLUE WAVE 💙💙💙

I hadn't quite thought about it that way. That narcissism is the norm for so many people. That's so said, but true. Great analysis.

Expand full comment

It really is true and although MAGAS get mad when you ask them if there was alcoholism ; addiction and alcoholism affect almost 46% of households …I think it’s higher because “blind loyalty” means you don’t discuss /reveal any of the insanity or abuse …you have been “groomed” to keep those secrets …I know I was in their family of origin !!! Are you ready ….9 times ….9 times out of 10 the answer is YES to addiction /narcissistic abuse !!! You help people “reflect” on their “grooming” and why they refuse to hear anything that contradicts the bully.

Donald "Jack-off "Trump is the poster rapist of Narcisstic Personality Disorder...countless doctors have proven this......Fox is even cutting him off mid-bullshit stream........how much longer can this insanity go on.....

What a night. The excitement was palpable. I teared up listening to the sustained round of applause for our President. I was in awe as speakers reviewed what brought us to this moment- a woman who I strongly believe will be our next President. I was proud of the way speaker after speaker laid out the difference between Harris/Walz and Trump/Vance. I delighted in the upbeat attitude as opposed to the negativity and doom of Trump. The army of intelligent, patriotic, good hearted people behind Kamala (pronounced correctly) was evident for all to see. There were no red hats, ridiculous costumes, tacky items emblazoned with photoshopped images. Just average citizens wanting our country to abide by our Constitution and the rights so many fought for. More to come!
