Donald only used half of the New Hampshire rally venue; even so there was an embarrassing number of empty seats. As Republican enthusiasm continues to plummet, Donald has a crowd size problem. I have video that proves the point… Read on.👇
Donald isn’t going to like this.
As he tries to grapple with Nikki Haley’s stronger-than-expected showing in New Hampshire, Donald’s campaign has a new problem: shrinking crowd sizes.
Low attendance: Donald’s trigger
The appearance of low attendance has always been a trigger for Donald, who infamously lied about the crowd size of his inauguration. If news of his crowd-size problem gets out, it will add to the increasing number of issues—like Nikki Haley’s stronger-than-expected showing, the increasing number of prominent politicians withholding their endorsements—having a negative impact on him.
🤷♀️
Journalists see empty seats
The journalists embedded in presidential campaigns are usually in the best position to capture the unvarnished moments beyond the carefully-crafted press releases — and Donald’s empty seats have been an often-missed part of their reporting over the last couple of years.
Donald’s recent claim that his Manchester rally was at full capacity didn’t fool anybody who was paying attention.
Anticipating a small turnout, Donald’s team purposely cut the venue in half using a curtain and seats were STILL empty. Republican governor Chris Sununu of New Hampshire made the observation that Donald “had to curtain off half of the stadium, so it didn’t look empty.”
Politico’s Lisa Kashinsky quoted one of Donald’s volunteers as saying they closed the doors around 6 p.m. “because they were at capacity.” But you can see the truth for yourself right here, in a video from Boston Globe political reporter James Pindell. 👇
Worse (for Donald), MSNBC contributor John Heilemann reported there were “empty seats all over the place.”
"They said there were a few thousand people there… but that (venue) seats 10,000; it was way less than half filled, and even in the lower level, you could see just seat after seat after seat, with no one in it," he said.
Heilemann then reported on a different rally, with attendance that also failed to impress:
"Last night, he did an event on Sunday night in Rochester: the place has a capacity of 700. I mean he filled 700 seats, but, you know, Trump used to brag about the 10,000 people, 12,000 people…”
Jimmy Kimmel mocks Donald
At one point at Donald’s rally, a man was escorted out for reportedly disrupting Donald’s remarks. When Kimmel showed a clip on his show, he referenced the obvious lack of attendees.
“Look at that record crowd!” he said. “Melania get the folks at Guinness on the phone, I never saw anything like this.”
Donald’s big crutch
Empty seats, low Republican voter turnout, and dropping enthusiasm are the reality of Donald’s campaign. The data show a growing number of Republicans—including, most recently Sen. Susan Collins of Maine—saying they will refuse to support Donald if he wins the nomination.
The issue of crowd size may seem trivial, but not if you know Donald.
Crowd size is one of the key ways Donald measures success. Small turnout, muted responses, and louder hecklers challenge him and stress him in a way few other things can. Huge crowds, and their violent energy, motivate him. They were a crutch. Without them, he loses an important method of deploying his message, and momentum.
The corporate media might not be covering it this way, but Donald is vulnerable. We shouldn’t ignore it when New Hampshire Republican voters say they voted for Haley in order to stop Donald.
Perhaps they are disgusted with his party too. Just this evening, the House ethics committee announced it reached out to a woman who allegedly had sex with Matt Gaetz when she was just 17 years-old.
Donald, Gaetz, Boebert… We have to show them that THIS is their party.
My Substack, new book, cable news appearances, and new nationwide campaign to STOP Donald from winning are all designed to inspire swing voters and pro-Haley Republicans to reject Donald and the entire insipid GOP.
