President Jimmy Carter for his NYT Opinion piece: ‘I fear for our democracy’ This man, the oldest living President, dealing valiantly with metastatic brain cancer, in the midst of an ongoing pandemic killing 2000 Americans a day, and he is called to put out with the purest of hearts and intentions, a rallying cry for us all to recognize the precipice and protect the fragile embers of a democracy which is currently very much at risk of being snuffed out.

Retired Col Alexander Vindman who very clearly stated Putin wants to annex ALL of Ukraine. As a lifelong Russia specialist I believe he is correct and the release of intel that a " false flag" operation in Ukraine is planned by Putin (as was done before annexing Crimea) as a means to justify aggression by Russia indicates hr may be correct. Putin has no shame at all and his economy and authoritarian regime is desperate. He'll sacrifice anything and anyone to stay in power.

Representative Liz Cheney, R-WY I disagree 100% with her politics but she has demonstrated she is likely the most ethical person in Congress today. It is a tragedy that her honesty has not convinced more Trumpublicans to stand up for the truth about January 6 and the Great Orange Ego's four years of selfish, destructive mismanagement.

Hannah S Wilder Wiseheart's avatar

She is indeed brave, but hardly "the most ethical person in congress." Most of the Democrats equal or exceed her, excluding dinosaur Manchin and allovertheplace Sinema.

I've started thinking it wouldn't come as a surprise to learn Manchin and Sinema identify as Democrats, but are actually on the GOP train --perhaps even compensated on the side for being disruptors.

I've been thinking for some time now that they both must be being paid off by the Republican Party, or Trump himself.

Unlikely Trump -- he's not even paying his own legal bills, but the GOP could easily have them on the payroll.

Seems we are of the same mind. Manchin is a smoother operator than Sinema who IMHO is a s**tshow -- but perhaps that's all part of her act. Nevertheless, I am very despondent -- especially given how political SCOTUS has become.

We may have different ideas about what makes a person ethical. Speaker Pelosi is one of the least ethical people in Congress.

Dr. Fauci. Living in Kentucky, I'm so embarrassed by Rand Paul. So, I loved seeing Fauci giving him a dose of his own bullshit this past week. Then the cherry on top of the bullshit was when Fauci called him a "moron" on a hot mic. 🍒💩🎯👏 #GoFauci

I’m pleased by the votes for Joe Biden, but since he was recently honored as Good Guy of the Year (2021), I’m going to say Jamie Raskin, for doing his duty in the face of annihilating grief, for his eloquence, and his steadfastness. Maryland can be proud.

I must support Joe Biden in this case, because of all the negative, hateful comments he must endure, the SCOTUS fiasco overturning vaccine mandates for big employers, issuing funding for free COVID test kits, deploying National Guard Teams to highly impacted COVID case sites, working with all of our allies to oppose Putin possible invasion of Ukraine, the reckless actions of other autocratic nations, and then doing everything he can on Voting Rights legislation despite the irresponsible behavior of some in the Democratic Party - all without the support of MSM and half of the American people - still maintaining the dignity of the Presidency, his own personal integrity and optimism hoping for successful results to protect our freedoms & democracy! JOE BIDEN 🇺🇸

Farron Cousin's you tube site for announcing the 48 page indictment and explaining how that document will filter down through the court systems to indict more of the J6, both at the Capitol and many others. This gives me a glimmer of hope for those who planned and delivered the rally then leading to the insurrection. The name of the channel is "Ring of Fire".

Thanks, Steven, I've searched through the video's but don't find one about this particular issue. Are you referring to the indictment of the Oath Keepers? I am sure it's right under my nose, and I am overlooking it. I tried the search function but nothing came up except for some indictments years ago.

Yes, your correct. It was the segment he did on the oath keepers indictment, I think it was a few days ago. Unless I'm just going crazy, I read a and watch so many things. I also watch Glen Kirshner's daily talks, it may have been him too, sorry.

Yes, he brought to light that per the Constitution : "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress...who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress...shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof." AND that a criminal conviction isn’t necessary for a person to be banned.

My vote is for Andy Murray. While his fellow tennis-player caused great disruption and bad feeling at the beginning of the professional tennis year, Sir Andy has been steadily working his way back to his old form while observing the rules of his host country. But not only that, he turned down millions of dollars offered by Saudi Arabia to play there, citing the abysmal human rights record of that country for his reason not to appear in a tournament. Money couldn't move him on the matter.

Novak Djokovic may be the best tennis player, Andy Murray is the better human being in my book.
