Mark Twain said to always tell the truth. That way, you didn't have to remember what you said. Your uncle's word salads make remembering impossible.

That reasoning makes so much sense. I could never understand why his attorneys would let him testify again since there's no telling what he'll say but you know it won't help his case. I'm with you. I can't wait until the damages verdict. Thanks for the update.

I find it ever so poignant that he complains about this as A Total WEAPONIZATION of the system against him (political witch hunt), but he’s STATED UNEQUIVOCALLY that this IS what his administration WILL DO AFTER he gets back into the Presidency. To go after EVERYONE that he perceived as going after him.

Many years ago Sir Richard Branson recalled the only time he met tfg in the 1990s. He said tfg was fixated on getting revenge on the 5 people who wouldn't help him when he was in financial trouble. Of course, we can all guess the financial trouble he was in he created. Branson went on to say tfg was "irrational, aggressive" and lacking informed ideas. He also said tfg would be a disastrous president...Sir Branson sure nailed it.

There is no defense for any of the charges agains him including the federal charges. It's not just because there's a mountain of evidence against him. He cannot find skilled attorneys anymore because 1) he cannot shut his mouth, 2) he doesn't listen to anyone but the voices in his head and 3) reputable firms won't go anywhere near him.

His current legal representation is laughable. Can't wait to see how they fare against Jack Smith and Fani Willis. Warming up the popcorn machine.

I predict he will fire his counsel mere days before trials are to start as another delay tactic.

Expand full comment
Michael Stayton's avatar

From my reading. A defendant cannot just up and fire has attorney before trial. The attorney has to seek permission from the judge. The judge can question the defendant. He decides if it is ok for an attorney to withdraw from the case.

In Trump's case it may be a big NO. Maybe if a couple of months before the trial date. But I would hope the judge would recognize it for what it is: A delay tactic.

In the Florida case if CANNON allowed it she would push the trail date out (past the election). New lawyers would require security checks beyond just getting up to speed.

That point should be brought up at the beginning of the trial. Mainly to inform Judge Cannon, in case she doesn't know. I also cannot wait to hear how she'll be schooled by far more experienced legal "advisors" in the courtroom...

It was probably one of those arranged marriages : old decadent, poor monarchy marries noveu riche, those who have recently acquired wealth, typically those perceived as ostentatious or lacking in good taste. Why did he name his son Baron. Why was the insurrection on 6 January, Three Kings Day? He married into an ancient royalty.
