We have money to bomb other countries. We have money to kidnap leaders from other countries. We have money to build a fighting ring on the grounds of the White House. And a ballroom. We have money to ruin the reflecting pool . We have money to fly the President and his entourage to NJ and FL for golf on the weekend. We have money to cover the oval office in tacky gold paint. We have money to pay Mitch McConnell, who voted against paid leave, to pay him while he was out for three months, and his staff as well. But somehow, we keep getting told we have no money for Social Security or Medicare or Medicaid. Congress is bought and paid for by large corporations. The rest of us beg for scraps and are supposed to be grateful. We are the only first world country on the planet where people can go broke because they got sick. Gas is over $4 a gallon. Diesel over $6. Food is more expensive than it's ever been. It's time to hold these so-called leaders accountable for their actions and lack of action. We have the money if we pay for the things that benefit all the people...not just the 1%.
And amazingly, if we DID do what so many other countries do, we'd provide better health care to everyone for less money than we currently spend on healthcare. See my other comment in this thread for details.

My mother is a retired RN who ran well child clinics and vaccinated countless children against diseases like measles during her career. But now she drinks the Fox News Koolaid and thinks maybe many of those vaccinations were unnecessary or unwise. WTF. How can educated and trained people turn against their education and training to believe these completely incompetent and unqualified sycophants Donald has chosen to surround himself with? Abdul El Sayed has a medical degree but isn’t a physician. Not totally unusual for someone who does research or, in the case of Dr. Sayad, policy work. Meanwhile our head of Health and Human Services has a degree in….law? Who would you be more likely to listen to?
It’s true that some doctors, like Sayad, stop (or don’t start) practicing medicine because they get into policy work. There are other reasons, too. For example, my former primary care doctor, born and raised in Queens (!), left the US because her partner—who was in the US legally, started a business that employed people, paid taxes and never broke the law—was told to leave. This was a few years before same-sex marriage became legal. I am sure other doctors have moved, for other reasons, from the US to countries where they can’t practice.
And let's NEVER FORGET the leader of this corrupt and incompetent regime, the one who put clowns like RFK Jr and 'Doctor' Oz in charge, recommended injecting bleach to cure Covid.
Let me state as a Canadian: I would rather have a wait time and know that I can see a specialist than be bankrupted. I like that when I had a child I did not pay for it. When I broke my ankle, I did not pay for it. When I had spinal surgery I did not pay for it. Health care for all is sensible and ethical. Health care for some is diabolical and cruel.
