And regarding the electoral college: think of how hard it would have been for DT to claim a mandate if everyone in every state, even reliably blue ones, had voted, and our popular votes outnumbered the electoral votes by tens of millions. People in less democratic nations would give their kidneys for the gift we throw away every few years here, because we don't like someone's laugh, or their position on one of a thousand issues.
