I can’t for the life of me figure out how one becomes so twisted, so utterly clueless as to believe that Trump and the Republicans are the good guys. Or to be so cynical as to believe that all politicians (Democrats and Republicans) are “all the same,” equally corrupt and out of touch.
I understand, there’s an incredible surplus of ignorance in the electorate, as well as the usual reprehensible qualities of hatred and bigotry, but it’s still so hard to understand.
There’s an old saying, “You can’t piss on my back and call it rain,” but the Trump supporters are positively soaked and either don’t notice or don’t care.
Doesn’t do much for one’s faith in humanity. Give me a Golden Retriever every time; dogs are much better people than people.
Musk and his minions are just as bad as Trump and his minions. At this point I feel sick whenever I see a Tesla car (and it's a shame he can legally use the name of a great scientist who died long before he was born for the car business). I have a neighbor who has one of those god-awful "trucks." A more hideous motor vehicle has never existed.
We must strike back against the oligarch class in every legal way, or perpetual serfdom is what will await not only this generation, but several generations to come, in the former democracy that was the USA.
I've been telling my husband for months how awful things will be. He hates Trump and the evil regime as much as I do, but he seems able to compartmentalize and sleep soundly most nights (he's 83, so I'm glad he can rest). I can't turn off my hatred and dread every night. Wishing that Trump will die does no good. He seems unbreakable. And even his death, as nice as that sounds to our ears, will not stop the grift, the cruelty and madness of the current regime.
These cuts that are going to cost lives would have only been thought of and approved by a sociopath/sociopaths.
