It was wonderful! Too hard to pinpoint a favorite part, though I think I could listen to her talk all day about her experiences in former Czechoslovakia and the parallels to what’s happening here, as well as the BS she endured while playing tennis. I’ve never been able to stomach any of the Real Housewives shows, I may have to give RHOM a shot! Keep up the great podcast interviews, Mary! Love them!
The parallels are unnerving but her perspective is fascinating.
I am not a reality show person at all but I think the fact that Martina's wife is on that show is really significant and kind of underscores how this country seems to be pulling in different directions.

So great to here from Martina and her views weren't getting bashed! I had to stop listening around the time when she warned about living in Communist Czechoslovakia and the similarities between then and now. Did you ask her about the mental health issues of today's players? She had it tough - being a former immigrant and gay, but that didn't stop her. I also didn't realize that her rankling in the game was fudged at times.
