I can't believe the way the right wing has been sanitizing Charlie Kirk, as if he's a hero. They felt that way about Rush Limbaugh, too, but both men lied and spread bigotry. Both seem to have had ironic deaths, with Rush Limbaugh championing the freedom to smoke anywhere and everywhere and dying of lung cancer. Then Kirk making comments about how we have to just put up with random gun deaths because of the 2nd amendment. The 2nd amendment has an exclusion about the weaponry of war, but somehow certain guns had their classification changed in order to get them into more hands. Their whole stupid people trying to talk down to smart people thing has gotten old.
Not a fan of "St." Paul either. I think he was a Q in LGBTQ, but they didn't have it in his day. Still seemed to apply Leviticus to ordinary people when it was only intended for the Levites, the ancient high priests, just like modern-day evangelicals have been doing. It's an ignorant group of men.
In a comment on Carr’s FCC threats in the Washington Post I called it “pure fascism,” which, along with many of the administration’s actions it most certainly is.
I got a reply proclaiming that I and other members of “the Left” don’t know the meaning of the term. Just the condescension and the insult, nothing more.
I understand the stupid ones and the religious nuts and the knuckle-dragging bigots in the MAGA crowd, they’ve always been with us.
But there are others who obviously have some education and the ability to write (a little, at least), and they’re the ones who really scare me.
