Let’s hope our politically minded Supreme Court with its known ethical issues has the intestinal fortitude to protect the constitution and democracy by declining to hear the issue and let the states decide. I have no faith in our current Supreme Court; its members have so demonstrated their inability to maintain ethical conduct that would be expected of the highly court and in my mind are politically motivated to do for themselves instead of the citizens of this nation.
That may be our saving grace here. That they don’t want a dictator president with a history of government overthrow. They like the elevated social status that comes with the job. Not sure if it’s better they refuse to take it up and let the states decide. But it might be good if they take it up and then throw it back to the states. This really calls their bluff on their originalist doctrine posturing. Yesssss 🙌
I’m sure Kagan, Sotomayor, and Brown Jackson beg to differ. I can’t imagine the inner turmoil they must feel, having to work with their extremely partisan colleagues.
Derek -- Yhanks for voicing what I've been thinking. After working hard and gaining what should be the epitome of being a lawyer, it must be crushing to know that your opinion will not count until someone dies. Depressing, but true.
“The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13 states independant 11 years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country before ever existed a century and half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure.”
Of course, it will all depend on whether SCOTUS grants cert on the appeal, and how it rules. But for now, it’s a lovely and well-deserved blow to your uncle!!
The removal of Donald on the ballot of all 50 states, 2 down, 48 to go! I look forward to January and February to add many more to this list. Once we see what happens on Jan 09, to the unicorn presidential immunity claims to be put down like a sick animal. I wait with baited breath for the result.
Yeah, it would be fabulous but I can unequivocally state Ohio will never do it. Given our massive red, with special leaning to MAGA, heads of all the things here, there's no freaking way. In fact, our Sec of State was desperately hoping he'd get Fat F*ck 45's endorsement for his senate hopes. He didn't but he was hoping....
POTUS is the Chief Executive Officer of the United States. Michigan’s Supreme Court took a 🐔 to the question for the primary ballot. Glad to see that Maine’s Secretary of State was made of stronger stuff!
Okay.... but if trump was 28 and not a threat....they may have added some other language. We all remember the jerks walking around the Michigan Capital with assault rifles while the legislators tried to work.
Ditto for Ohio. Our Sec of State was kissing Fat F*ck 45's butt so hard to try and get his endorsement for SoS's Senate run in 2024. Plus we are "home" to Gym F*cking Jordan, and JD Vance. Barfola.
Yes Mary! America has seen Donald Trump in action. America has seen DJT live on television. Should we not believe our own eyes and ears and common sense! I don’t need Clarence Thomas nor Brett Cavanaugh to confirm that for me. Thank you Maine and Colorado “For The Record” of all time. Perhaps the most important record of all time. You stood up for democracy and America when democracy was in the sight of absolute and total destruction! Now, states must stand together as allies. No hubris, no competition and only one reason, to save democracy and to improve it totally and with virtue. Yes this is for history precisely! It is the choice between good and evil. It is the choice between truth and lies. It is the choice between reading histories of realities and reading the mindless blather of some exploiting dictator’s propaganda that will cause you to be in his servitude forever.
Add: Because there is a radical omission in the US Constitution (no forefather ever considered DJT as a real possibility) of how to deal with a dictator being on the ballot at the same time that the US Supreme Court is corrupt, and almost all republicans in Congress are corrupt and aligned with Putin, DOES NOT MEAN that states must follow nor endorse that ERROR!!!!! States rights MUST mean that states have a right to DO BETTER than the lowest common denominator of a sadly corrupt nation of narcissistic sociopaths.
Hallelujah!! Popcorn sounds good, but I think I'll have kettlecorn 😊. As always, thank you for your insight and all the sacrifices you have made in the name of Democracy.
Proud to live in the state of Maine.
You should be
Thank you ! I hope NY does it too
Proud OF the state of Maine

Frankly, they are not loyal to America, and that just stinks!
I agree with you 100%!
Thank you.
You are so correct. It disgusts me.
Thank you.
Thank you.

They do know that with a dictator, there will be No SCOTUS.... Even the billionaires should know that.
Even the followers will suffer. They don't get it.

I’m sure they will, and they are just 3.
Who wrote the following?

Thomas Jefferson, why do you ask?
A founding father of America, calling for an armed rebellion against political rulers?
You seem to be a little hostile.
The reign insane falls plainly down in Maine.
Very good. By George I think you've got it!
Hell to the YESSSSS!
Welcome to the tsunami of truth, yo !
Yes Daniel ! To the truth.
Ditto!!
Beautiful Maine❣️
I’m in Maine and I say “yeah baby”
👍👍From your neighbor to the North.
Lucky you!

A kick right straight in the..... EGO.
Couldn't happen to nicer schmuck.

Maybe not all 50 would like to see it though …
I can still dream, big.

Major death threats in Michigan, wise decision for the moment. Need to force SCOTUS on this one.
Michigan’s decision wasn’t on the merits. Rather, it was because of a state law that primaries are not run by states, but by the respective parties.
Okay.... but if trump was 28 and not a threat....they may have added some other language. We all remember the jerks walking around the Michigan Capital with assault rifles while the legislators tried to work.
They left revisiting it after the primary open.
Thank you Maine. Of course I'd like to kick Donnie somewhere besides off the ballot. But it's a start. :)
Gary!!
There’s something happening here . Donald may soon very well be on a path to a state by state Rejection rally from each Secretary of State.
This is so important going forward.
It protects the rights of the voters and most paramount , the rule of law .
Now on to the courts .
Many rivers to cross.
Hell, THAT is not happening in Texas!
Too bad they are the worse REPUBLICANS!

The chapters in the "American History" Books, in Nations across the Oceans, will eviscerate the USA.

Thank you, Maine! I would love for many more states to kick him off the ballot but will take each victory as they come.
ANYONE UP FOR A GAME OF TRUMP DOMINOES ?
So proud to be in your group! A PROUD AMERICAN!!! 🇺🇸
Hallelujah!! Popcorn sounds good, but I think I'll have kettlecorn 😊. As always, thank you for your insight and all the sacrifices you have made in the name of Democracy.
Now and always a proud Mainer!
