Quite convincing, although there is an old addage that says you can prove anything with statistics. Anyway nothing ever came of it. I wonder if Mary can elaborate a bit on this.

Someone should write a Cole's notes for this book as it's a heavy slog for someone not familiar with US history (such as myself, a Canadian).
