I agree with most of what you said, but (like Jon Calv) I need to point out that Maduro was captured and is still in jail in New York. Please clarify.

I imagine she meant that his surrogate remains the head of state.

Can you explain WHY, then, Maduro has not been charged with any crime and brought to trial? I’ll wait for an answer!

I've also wondered why he hasn't been charged and when he will be put on trial. The other question is why María Corina Machado, Nobel Prize winner and popular leader of the opposition (who even gave Trump her Nobel medal) was not allowed to take her rightful place as leader. Instead they left the rest of Maduro's government in place and put Marco Rubio in charge - how many jobs does that guy have now, anyway?

Nicolás Maduro has been charged in court with drug trafficking and firearms offenses. He is also expected to face new charges related to the alleged torture of Americans detained in Venezuela

What bothers me more are those around him who continue to make excuses for his mental decline. Those who continue to explain to everyone what he "really meant" to say, how they constantly turn a blind eye to his obvious lies and delusions. Are they seriously that afraid of him or do they love the power and control he allows them to have. None of this is normal. None of it.

Sometimes it helps to remember that Trump is only the tip of the problem. The core of it remains those who are still so utterly deluded as to imagine he belongs in the Oval Office. Without them, he is nothing more than a demented old man standing on a street corner shouting at the wind.

Trump is certifiably insane. He remains in office simply because he put a cabinet in place that owes 100% of its existence to him and him alone. When he goes each and every one of them is at risk for prison and/or financial ruin. As such they keep him in power for self preservation. At least until he blows up the world.

Every leader and every journalist at the UN witnessed this then carried on as if it was perfectly normal. There should have been an emergency gathering of world leaders. They should have called out the US government and demanded that they urgently address the seriousness of a delusional, demented, malignant narcissist in the final stages of narcissistic collapse remaining in office to make decisions affecting the lives of millions of people. The existential threat is clear. Take him out, NOW!

As for the MSM, I despair. Headlines should have been screaming with all the points you made, Mary, and demanding his immediate removal. Instead, America heads towards midterm elections and whatever chaos and danger this maniac has set up to save his sorry ass.

Nicholas Maduro is in a New York prison.

When trumps the one who should be in prison. Maduro is not a US citizen. He did nothing that Trump should be able to arrest him for and use our tax dollars to capture and hold him. Maduro doesn’t have to abide by Donnie’s laws.

James Quinn's avatar

But his surrogate remains as head of state.

Extremely scary. Our future, both in the US and in the rest of the world (I'm British), is going to depend on whether Trump's minders can keep him under control. Of course, he ought to be removed from office due to insanity right now, but that's not going to happen.

Jon Calv's avatar

I understand you don't get along with your uncle but you made a mistake in this last post suggesting that Nicolas Maduro wasn't arrested and put in prison in the US... he's not imagining it's a Truth it happened...I was shocked reading this..I hope you clarify this subject

Do you contend that Trump’s kidnapping, murder of a reported 75 people, and imprisonment without charge or trial of Maduro and his WIFE, was lawful?

Ellen Bjornskov's avatar

Somethings wrong here: Maduro is in jail in New York and an agreement with the Kingdom of Denmark and Greenland was signed later that day.

Nicholas Maduro remains in power in Venezuela.

What does Dr. Trump mean by "Nicholas Maduro remains in power in Venezuela."

Is it time for the world to step in? And can they? If he rigs the elections, and it sure looks like he’s laying the groundwork to do exactly that, we may need help from other countries. I’ll say what I’ve believed all along: I don’t believe he has won a single election fairly. There. I said it.

Nvidia CEO Mr. Huang has succeeded in getting Mr. Trump to parrot his talking points.

Trump is clueless but can parrot words from others

To show how delusional he is, what would make him think that the rest of the world cares about his "big decision" or anything else having to do with his second term?
