What I see with ICE and the detention facilities is the future arrest of ordinary Americans are third, fourth, fifth, etc generation in the United States. “We don’t like what you say.. time for you to go away.” Like Hitler and the Holocaust.

I wonder if any of the drivers are getting restitution for the damage to their vehicles. I'd be really angry if some thug busted out my car windows.

I don't know, but it might depend on the vehicle insurance company. The car I left in the Philippines, days after evacuating back to the States, was covered in lava when a volcano erupted. The insurance company didn't believe me because I didn't have the car, any photos, or proof that it happened.

I haven't heard that expression in a long, long time, as in decades. It gave me a big chuckle. Thank you!

I assume not from the government, because ICEthugs are immune from all consequences.

So, I imagine it would depend on what one's auto insurance covered.

I did a Google search and found this regarding "ICEthugs" being "immune from all consequences." Apparently, they sometimes operate under "qualified immunity", whatever that is. Here is what I found...

"ICE law enforcement officers are not immune from all consequences, though they possess broad protections and often operate under a shield of qualified immunity. While they can face federal or state prosecution for illegal actions or excessive force, they are generally protected from civil liability for constitutional violations unless they violate clearly established rights." (I don't know what "excessive force" means.) Anyway, here is the link . . .

I know what the law says. But, I also know what they are doing, including finding specious ways to get around the law, especially when it comes to warrants and the 4th Amendment.

Dr. Robert Bloxom's avatar

You are right about their specious ways, especially in this instance with the 4th Ammendment. They pick and choose which parts of the Constitution suit their needs, distorting or ignoring others that don't.

The Trump administration is lawless. At best, the law is just an aggravating speed bump to Trump and his gang of thugs.

The problem is well known, but how to fix it is another story.

I’m someone who has to turn the volume off when they show the ads about animal cruelty. I keep telling my friends they cannot stop paying attention because some of them have. Now I have to take breaks…when they tear gassed a 6 month old baby; I lost it.

I was intrigued by your use of the phrase "accountability is optional" in response to J.D. Vance's comment about ICE's mistakes. Accountability and responsibility are closely related, so it's like Vance saying our "responsibility is optional."

Your uncle looks like a fool with heavy, world ending-type threats, only to walk them back. Hence the name TACO-Trump Always Chickens Out. He doesn't realize or care how foolish he looks when he does this. What seems to be important to him is the attention his threats get and that it's a show of force on his part.

LOL-That's a great idea. The only thing is if his name is mentioned in connection with a National Chicken Taco Day, it gets him attention. We all know how much attention he loves.
