Out here in the Pacific Northwest diesel is over $7.20 a gallon. As of yesterday.

Michael J. Tardiff's avatar

In Seattle proper, I saw $7.59 just yesterday. $8 can’t be far away.

Eliciafay Aleday's avatar

The $7.20 a gallon was the lowest I saw yesterday and it was at a tribal station. In Everett it was like Seattle.

$8+ coming soon to a venue near you! 🙄

Patricia Panora's avatar

Know the pain. In CA gas is at 5-6.5 a gallon now.

ConnieW's avatar

That’s regular gas. Diesel is over $8.

Sue Lunsford's avatar

…so the cost of everything goes up & up!

Connie Larsen's avatar

In the PNW Been tracking Fred Meyer gas since 2/28 it was $4.09!

9/15 5.45

Diesel was $7.89. Yesterday

Just so everyone is clear, because I know not everyone knows this:

It's CONtrails, not CHEMtrails.

CON for CONdensation.

I've had to explain this to people who aren't fearmongering about airplanes dropping chemicals on us, so ...

According to emails from Mary Peltola, the Democrat running for U.S. Senate up in Alaska, outside of the cities in that state, diesel is costing well over $25 a gallon.

Over $25 a gallon.

Gobsmacked.

Down with Sullivan!!! Both of them!!

GO MARY!

Joan C. Harwood's avatar

That’s what you get for living in a godforsaken place that is dark outside half the year and is far away from places that produce food, etc. Imagine how many gallons of diesel it takes to transport the diesel to AK!

Mary, Trump Trolls Trump is a high point of of my week. Your humor, snarkiness, and disbelief this stuff is STILL HAPPENING make me laugh out loud.

Thanks for another edition of TTT, Mary. You know, it used to piss me off to no end when I would read about your degenerate moron uncle wasting our taxpayer dollars on yet another goddamn golf outing. Or traveling to some big sporting event at which he can fall asleep. But, then it occurred to me that anytime he’s away from doing actual presidential things, is probably a net plus for the American people.

The man who set Europe’s readiness clock now chairs NATO’s military committee

General Carsten Breuer has spent three years telling Europe it has until roughly 2029 to be ready. He wrote Operationsplan Deutschland, the plan for how Germany mobilises and moves forces across its own territory. As of today he chairs the body that advises NATO’s North Atlantic Council and shapes strategic and nuclear planning.

An argument just became an institution.

The election happened at a chiefs of defence meeting in Copenhagen. Breuer succeeds Italian Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, who confirmed the outcome and noted that the defence chiefs had placed their trust in Breuer at a demanding time for Euro-Atlantic security.

The handover also changes perspective. From a maritime officer to a continental army general. From sea lines to mass, logistics and the movement of forces across Europe.

He takes office in July next year. Ten months of handover, in a period where ten months is a long time.

Iran controls the strait and Trump controls your household budget. Perfect! Almost 100 years ago the global economy crashed. It can happen.

Patricia Panora's avatar

It will again. It’s how they reset things.

Robot Bender's avatar

I think that's their aim.

Connie Larsen's avatar

So what is the thought about Iran not opening the strait until Trump n bibi are gone??

Adam's avatar

Well, looks like they got to go ma'am.

Thank you Mary. Once again you’ve hit the proverbial nail on its head.

Mockery is Liberty’s hand maid!

MLT: "The cost of diesel has hit an all time nationwide record, which will only drive all other prices up as well. Why? Because trucks need diesel. Ships need diesel in order to move goods."

Something I haven't seen mentioned anywhere is that in the United States and many other countries, DIESEL NEEDS DIESEL! Every trucker bringing everything to market, including gasoline and DIESEL fuel, is watching their costs rise. And the cost of just getting diesel fuel into a tank at a truck-stop is going up as a result. And no amount of sitting in a truck cab pretending to steer it while grinning fatuously is going to reverse that.

Part of the reason it's hilarious that Rafael is out pimping for the football bill is that college football hasn't been part of "college" for decades; it's a huge moneymaking operation that grifts off the names of the schools that participate in it.

Thank you for the article, Mary. Cruz got booed big time.

I think that, just for the heck of it, we put your uncle's name on the facade of the Kennedy Center to save it from an illegal and immoral demolition. Immediately, it'll become to target of every graffiti-artist, spray-painter, black-Sharpie owner, paint-baller, drone-owner, etc., who can manage to get within vandalism- and desecration-range... then, when he's gone, we can remove the Trump detritus and restore the facade to its former beauty using a highly-qualified, competitively-selected building contractor.
