The most important line in the whole post is: "What we are fighting is fascism," and the truth is, any Democrat is way better than any of the current Republicans, especially if they are Trump-supported.
That is why we must unite with the agenda of defeating enough Republicans that we take back the House AND the Senate, as this is the only path to progress and curtailing Trump and his henchmen (and women) from destroying 250 years of democracy.
What I have found in my encounters with Trump supporters, whom I know personally and those on political sites, is that many Republicans/conservatives appear to equate "democracy" with Democrats, the party they hate.
Many even split hairs and argue that we are NOT a Democracy; we're a Republic! Actually, we're both, as in a "Constitutional Democratic Republic". Non-Trump supporting Independents, like myself, are treated with the same level of disdain for pointing this out.
I also find that to be true. What really pisses me off the most is when you state a verified fact, and they still call you a liar or something to that effect.
Re the work being done on the front of the White house, haven't heard a single news person investigate and comment. Fortify it as mention in your tutorial, finish the ballroom and stock it with supplies, there might jut be a president who doesn't want to leave. Then the world can really have a laugh.
I happen to agree with Hakeem Jeffries's response. The Democrats should distance themselves from that DSA agenda because you just know the GOP and FOX news are going to make it sound like that is the official Democrat agenda. Sure there may be an overlap, but they are only going to emphasize the crazy parts like abolishing the Senate and prisons.
One way to combat this degree of ignorance of our government would be to demand that schools follow a standardized syllabus of study for a Social Studies class and make passing that a requirement for graduating high school besides passing English. Make it a syllabus developed by educators and lawmakers from both parties of congress so that there is no room for interpretation and unchecked manipulation of the facts, and so that one party cannot accuse the other of partisan politics.
When they then register to vote, like when getting a drivers license, have them take a test first.
