Because EVERYTHING is at stake

Why am I in Atlanta, Georgia?

Because this moment in American history is too important not to be. Because when a president who is actually defending democracy calls, I pick up the phone. 

And because this nation deserves to hear the truth about Donald from a Trump. 

My whole life, I have witnessed my uncle’s narcissism and cruelty. His sense of inferiority has always driven his jealousy and his pathological need to dominate others, and this is information that is crucially important for the American people to have in advance of the most important election of our lifetimes. 

I’m in Atlanta tonight to remind everyone who Donald is as a person and how he would rule as a president because the stakes are far too high for us to get this wrong — We cannot afford to allow Donald Trump anywhere near the levers of power again.

Donald cannot be trusted and we must recognize that his last administration was simply a warm-up for much worse to come just as January 6th was a dress rehearsal for a man who will stop at nothing to ascend, once again, to this country’s highest office. He is desperate for power and has shown himself both unworthy of wielding it and obsessed with regaining it purely for his own benefit. He must be stopped. 

And I will do everything I can to stop him. 

I am not alone in my assessment. People in his own inner circle are warning us that he is unfit for office. Think about the countless former aides who have been brave enough to recount their stories. Even his own Vice President is refusing to endorse him. Though to be fair, Mike Pence was almost killed by Donald and his army of idiot fans.

But look at the other people who were close to him and around him and tell us he shouldn’t be allowed to go on a White House tour, let alone be president again. 

They describe a man so deeply unhinged, so insecure that he would do anything – including inciting a violent mob to storm our nation’s Capitol. They describe a man who wanted to execute his political enemies.

And you need only listen to Donald himself. He talks of revenge. He talks of retribution. He talks of being a dictator. 

If the worst happens and Donald gets back into the White House, none of us who ever criticized him will be safe because revenge and retribution are what he traffics in. I’m here tonight because only President Biden can stop Donald and save our country.

And I will do everything I can to help him. 

There are four of us who will be in CNN’s spin room on Thursday night to share with the press and the country why we believe Joe Biden should be president again — and why Donald should not.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock and I will all be doing our best tonight to help President Biden get out his message that Donald is a threat to the American people and the American way of life. It’s not a hard case to make, but it is one that needs to be made. 

I am honored that the Biden campaign asked me to join this prestigious group of American patriots. But it isn’t honor that led me to say yes. Frankly, crowded spin rooms and bright media lights aren’t exactly my cup of tea. 

But this moment is simply too important. I said yes because America needs to know exactly who my uncle is and what he will do to this country and its people if he manages to win a second term. 

So I am in Atlanta to tell the truth, shame the devil and share with the American people why they should join me in doing everything they can to stop a man who hates this country and loves only power. 

Tonight, there is one Trump in Atlanta who cares about this country and fears it’s about to make a giant mistake. 

And it isn’t my uncle.
