The 2016 election was a nail-biter. Trump lost by an avalanche in the popular vote but barely squeaked by in the more important Electoral College vote. While hindsight is 100% reliable, the election could have gone either way right up until the end. Given the nose dive in the polls that Trump took after the Access Hollywood tape was revealed, it would have been devastating if Stormy Daniels' account of Trump's infidelity with a porn star came out just before the election.

Trump stopped at nothing to suppress the story and to cover up the footprints to it; and he's still trying to cover it up now. While Trump continues to be utterly devoid of moral scruples, there is nothing within his character that even suggests a scintilla of shame.

And the only true regret that he has is that he got caught.

From one psychologist to another ... BWAhahahaha! The daily shredding of the defense and (one hopes) dissolution of DJT's relative composure in the courtroom provide exactly the therapy I've needed after nine years of DJT-induced trauma. He's still FA-ing even as he's FO-ing.

Did you catch this bit of legal trivia in yesterday;s NYT opinion newsletter? "What the jurors don’t know yet and won’t learn until the judge instructs them just before they deliberate is that there is nothing in New York state law requiring prosecutors to prove that Trump broke tax laws, campaign finance laws or conspiracy laws to win a felony conviction. All they need to do is prove that Trump intended to do wrong in these areas." Cheering for hard evidence in written and audio forms!
