These people are emotionally immature shallow thinkers with no understanding of how power works, which is why many of them stayed home or voted 3rd party (in both 2016 and 2020) and are constantly denigrating "the Democrats". They are mostly unread ignoramuses, which is why we see someone blathering about "a Communist sect" and mentioning Putin, as if the USSR had never fallen. And we have the absurdity of someone saying that Trump needs to be kicked out of office NOW (always agentless passive voice), and when you ask how someone responds that no one will have to. And if you push back at their shallow and incoherent thinking they idiotically say you're MAGA ... as if anyone intelligent enough to challenge irrational thought processes is surely MAGA (when in reality I've been a progressive for over 60 years).

I like your insistence that inaction keeps any progress frozen in place, because its true. But if anyone at all insists that it's too late to do anything....well duck and cover carries no guarantees....I did think that way until a few days after Jan 20th and finally realized duck and cover doesn't work at all. The only sane avenue was, for me anyway, demonstrating, going to marches, writing to congress people and senators, calling their offices and telling them what I want them to do. Acting together with fellow citizens and exercising freedom of speech publicly, actually being with others and doing something brought me out of a horrible sense of fear and terror where I could turn my energy towards a worthy goal of protecting our democracy through nonviolent action.

I am with you, Pete, but the voters had that chance, KNOWING what the Felonious Prevaricator would do once he was returned to the White House. I still do not understand how many voters were STILL on the fence right up until election day! How about the fascism that was spelled out in Project 2025? The only place Benedict Donald belongs is the Big House. The people who are angry need to continue with their protests throughout the country, since the gutless cowards in the Republican Congress remain silent. They can put a stop to all of this nonsense at any time, but continue to lick the boots of this diabolical and despicable tyrant. If we don't see a blue avalanche in next year's mid-terms, then there is no hope. If Adam Kinzinger happens to see this, one of the few quality GOP members who stood up to the BS, please let us know your thoughts.

P.S. It's remarkable how angry, hostile, and accusatory some people get in response to a simple point ... they are utterly intolerant of a little pushback from a mature POV. When your response to someone who tries to be realistic and intellectually honest is to accuse them of being MAGA or KKK then you are not being even remotely rational. 🇨🇦 I've been helping with the Canadian election, so haven't been posting for a bit. Over here, Canada is still trying to comprehend what happened. It's kind of like how you feel for a few minutes after getting off a tilt-a-whirl or giant roller coaster ride.

The recounts are done (I think), and a Bloc seat changed to liberal, giving Carney a little bit more stability. The next step is to pick cabinets within two weeks. The NDP will need to have a leadership election. But, overall everything is good.

I haven't had a chance to follow Mary's new daily videos, so I don't know if this was covered.

But, on election night, when Donald Trump had a hissing fit because Poilivere was pitched into a garbage can (he also lost his home), Trump issued an executive order that unites all your police forces in each state under the centralized control of Homeland security.

It further states the American military will augment the state police forces, and any state officials who oppose this will be criminally charged and jailed.

And, it increases the pay of frontline law enforcement making salaries a lot higher than the average citizen. The idea here is officers will think twice before ignoring Trump to keep their lucrative pay, instead of upholding the constitution. The order can be downloaded from here:

Urgent: Trump's Executive Order Militarizes Police Forces and Centralizes Control

https://www.narativ.org/p/urgent-trumps-executive-order-militarizes

The order does not take effect until 60 days from now, in the week Trump will have his one way military parade to the whitehouse.

The next day (April 29) DOGE has given your nuclear codes to Russia. I imagine what's important is the disarm codes:

Operatives Created Potential Russian 'Back Door' To US Nuclear Power Grid and Weapons Stockpile

https://www.narativ.org/p/breaking-news-doge-operatives-created

And, today (April 30) Alexander Dugin, Putin's ideological advisor, posted on X:

“Election of ultra-globalist woke liberal US-phobic Mark Carney in Canada is declaration of war to Trump. So it would be rather easier: geopolitical necessity of assuring northern territories multiplied by ideological opposition to Trumpism. Canadians = Ukrainians.”

"MAGA is under serious attack from every corner."

It looks like Russia is telling Trump to attack Canada. We have Commonwealth allies, French nuclear subs, with police forces and military units ready if that happens, so don't even think of trying it.

Of course, executive orders cannot create laws. They can only enforce existing federal laws passed by congress. And, that certainly means executive orders have no jurisdiction over state law enforcement.

And, your constitution forbids your military to be used against American citizens. Troops in your military or national guard would be operating under illegal orders if they co-operate with Trump.

The thing is, when Putin took over Russia, this is exactly one of the first things he did. He unified all the police forces across the municipalities and raised each officer's pay to "privileged" levels.

So, you may want to do something about this. It looks like Trump is envisioning his authoritarian regime will be completed by Independence day. He's already arrested a judge and spirited away a lot of your citizens, including kids. This is no joke or conspiracy theory.

🍁 Elbow's UP! 🏒
