I hope you do not mean that Mary should “sit down and shut up!” Mary is smart, educated and has a lot to say about the nightmare we are living through with Trump as President. He has set this country back 150 yrs with black and brown people being the enemy in his eyes. Is that acceptable to you with regard to American equal rights.

I don’t agree that we get the politicians we deserve. I never voted for the orange plague and gave despised him since the early 1980’s. Our problem is that many US citizens are just plain stupid.

In a nutshell, due to all the etiologies listed in the discussion above, Donald Trump has become the embodiment of evil on every plane! There is nothing more I can offer!! He has to be removed, along with his bevy of sycophants known as his cabinet. If that doesn’t happen our great democracy is doomed!!!

The midterms will be a huge tell if America is waking up, and even if we are it will be more than difficult,to remove him from office, but unless he is stopped and arrested, indicted, tried and convicted AND SENT TO PRISON, WE ARE IN DIRE STRAITS! The new Congress cannot afford to dither as they have in the past. They need to go after the Regime immediately and also start working for the American people! I pray they are up to the tasks ahead!

I too, was raised in a narcissistic and very dysfunctional (and abusive) family system, with a malignant narcissist adoptive mother. What you said about Donald’s ability to suck people in through grievance and manipulate them into owning his grievances as their own was so very telling to me, bc it’s exactly what the adoptive mother did to me and everyone around her.
I also think that we, as Americans, are living in a time of psychological reckoning. Like adults who need to reconcile a dysfunctional and abusive childhood, and untangle the psychological profiles of our parents, families, and ourselves, on the road to healing; I think we as a country must recognize the mirror that your uncle holds up to us. He is the dysfunctional parent, family and broken system we have all inherited and need to now untangle so that we can heal.
The Rest is Politics is by far the best political podcast in the world. Both hosts are intelligent, articulate, open-minded and actually have unprecedented knowledge of what is happening throughout the world.
Mary Trump is by far the best political guest you could possibly ask for when the topic of conversation is Donald Trump. Her expertise on his sanity or insanity and his vanity that has morphed into vanity projects cannot be understated.
I'm waiting for the day when Uncle Donald will sit for an interview with his niece. I believe in such a scenario he might just loosen his lips far enough for actual Truth to ease through....

It's hard to acknowledge, but the greedy side of Americans promoted Donald's assention to power. We have to take also into account the racist and sexist mentality. And about Donald's charm, what I will say here might sound weird or unbelievable to many, but it has connection with his birth sign Gemini. Just ask any astrologer, he/she would clarify this. John F. Kennedy had it too, that charm. But it's obvious Donald misuses this talent to take advantage of others and in it's worse way, of the American people. He definitely represent the worse of the Gemini. I can tell, I'm born under the same astral sign; actually, my birthday is June 15th! I'm charming, but can be vengeful! So I understand his motives, aside of the fact his father encourage him to conduct his life according to and guided by those malicious traits.
