When are these hapless flunkies going to realize that their only purpose is to break the law on Donald Trump's behalf and to climb onto the sacrificial altar when the outrage reaches critical?

Cherie's avatar

They're all like him, self-centered greedy people who also love power. It's worth the risk to them.

Catherine K's avatar

How much you want to bet that there are already "Pre-printed and Signed" Pardons for Most, if not All of his "Cabinet"?

Cherie's avatar

Could be, but I'm pretty sure he gets money or something of value to him for EVERY pardon he signs. He probably expects the women he's kicked out to pay even more for a pardon than the men do. The only other reason he'd pardon someone is to keep them from blackmailing him. But if they're pardoned, they cannot take the 5th in court if he's brought to trial for any crime they were pardoned for.

Catherine K's avatar

Wouldn't surprise me, since everything Felon47 does is transactional in some form.

Jonji's avatar

He wouldn't do them, otherwise.

pilar's avatar

They must already have a form to just quick date, sign, done.

Nancy Fauser's avatar

Here comes the AUTOPEN. 😁

Merry's avatar

They know Trump will pardon them IF he’s still around. And that’s a big IF, unless, at some point, there’s an ongoing Weekend at Bernie’s episode.

Cherie's avatar

Not necessarily. I expect he's been paid big bucks by MOST, if not ALL, of the people he's pardoned. Also, if they accept a pardon they can't take the 5th if he's brought to trial for one of the crimes they got pardoned for. (Of course, I expect old age to take him out before he ends up in court.)

Merry's avatar

Agree. That was my failed attempt to be sarcastic, which I use occasionally to lessen my own anxiety.

As we know at this point, Trump has always functioned well outside the law. And he’s NEVER been held accountable.

So as long as he holds the “golden throne”, we can expect continued lawlessness, until someone decides it’s time to stop him. (By whatever means necessary.)

The good news is that he’s friggin’ OLD and rapidly decaying!

But then we’re looking at JD… 😳 deep sigh…

ckd's avatar

I think there is already a weekend with Bernie's going on - Mitch McConnell.

Nancy Fauser's avatar

Too little, too late.

JBR's avatar

They know. They like the power.

Sky Blue's avatar

NEVER EVER TRUST A BULLY because they are SO insecure narcissistic and paranoid that sooner than later..

EVERYONE becomes one of their TARGETS!!

Reggaemama's avatar

No way should we cut Noem nor Bondi any slack. Both need to be in prison.

Merry's avatar

The entire lawless regime needs to be in prison!

JBR's avatar

Whose gonna prosecute

Well, as we all know by now, that’s where the midterms come in, and exactly why doofus donny is doing everything he can to control the voting process - INCLUDING starting an illegal Wag the Dog war with Iran without congressional approval and oversight with no exit strategy, and, oh, by the way, he now claims - INSISTS - he needs an additional $200B for military and an increased budget in 2027 to a jaw-dropping $1.5 TRILLION in lieu of Medicare, childcare etc.

Someone wake me up and make the insanity stop!!! PLEASE!!!🙏

America RIP.

Merry's avatar

It sure feels like it right now!

Nancy Fauser's avatar

It should be Jack Smith.

Mary, thank you for your hard work and relentless efforts to clarify, analyse and evaluate the latest chaotic daily plight of Donald Trump.

You certainly give us a transparency, honesty and integrity in your synopsis. You are meant to carry out this role. It’s extraordinary, credible and supportive, as are you. ✌🏾💕

Stasia's avatar

Give her a huge hug!🥰

Norm's avatar

Yeah, it’s hard to have any sympathy for Pammy Jo. She thought if she kissed enough orange ass, she could keep her gig as Attorney General. As you have pointed out many times, Mary, it’s never enough for your addlebrained, convicted felon uncle. Even some diehard MAGAs are waking up to that.

Cherie's avatar

It was funny to see her so frazzled she referred to the Dow numbers as "dollars." And that was irrelevant, anyway, but I am sure Trump told her "when the going gets tough, always say something about how great the stock market is." As if your average person really gives a damn about that - they worry about the cost of living, and keeping a job so they don't get thrown out in the street. Trump never, ever had to even work for anyone but his father until these idiots voted him in to this "government job."

Nancy Fauser's avatar

Up for ONE day, steadily dropping ever since.

Dawn H's avatar

They are in a cult!! The loyalty and lack of morals is very concerning.

Paula Harmon's avatar

At this point it’s beyond the point of no return

Merry's avatar

“It’s hard to imagine anybody who did as much to meet Donald’s demands as Pam Bondi and the lesson here is that in the end nobody will be found to be loyal enough, sycophantic enough, or corrupt enough to stay on Donald’s good side.”

Trump’s blatantly under-qualified, corrupt, criminal, thuggish, lawless, 3 stooges regime feels like we’re watching an endless SNL skit. And it would be hilarious if we didn’t know that it’s all TRUE!

Paula Harmon's avatar

So all these appointments under the guise of DEI was in of itself a grift one the most corrupt of all time across these agencies that will take time while the hundreds of thousands of our best service workers are no longer employed.

Unfortunately the Democratic Party is also controlled by oligarchs. So, what happens next? Campaign Finance MUST be addressed. In a Democracy, political parties must be beholden to the voters, not to oligarchs.

Steve Ridling's avatar

trump uses the most loyal to him as scapegoats, now watch as Leavitt falls from favor next, after all it's girls first! Right?

…or Tulsi Gabbard

No one paid any attention to the mental health professionals way back in 2015 when they warned if he was elected it would be a train wreck

Now that we have gotten rid of the worst AG we’ve had in years, it is time to get rid of the worst secretary of defence that we’ve had in centuries. get rid of the loser Hegseth ASAP.

Francesca Cee's avatar

Looks like that may need to wait. He's firing the women first. Tulsi Gabbard is next. I'm guessing karoline is going to lose her job relatively soon as well

Velovixen's avatar

If your boss tells you to break the law, or simply do something unethical, said boss will throw you under the bus to save their own skin. Always.

I learned that lesson on an early job. I didn’t do the thing my boss wanted me to do. I lost that job and was denied unemployment benefits because I was fired for “insubordination.” Luckily, I found another job fairly quickly: I explained the situation to the person who interviewed me, who gave me a knowing glance. Apparently, the boss who fired me had more of a reputation than I’d realized. Later, I found out that he told my replacement, and other employees, to do something illegal. When the cards fell, he left them to face the legal consequences by themselves.

You would think that folks working in pay grades far above the ones I was at would understand such things, especially since DT is an even more overtly egregious and pernicious version of the boss I had all of those years ago.

Linda Nation's avatar

Same thing happened to me. Boss ordered me to do something illegal. I refused. He said he would fire me. So, I did it; once, and I told him that I would NEVER do it again. He came back in 3 days and told me to do it again. I quit on the spot and walked out the door.

No negative consequences and I had no trouble finding another job. I even told the interviewer at the next job exactly what had happened. I was hired.

donna's avatar

Yeah - you’d think. I wonder more about his followers and worker bees than I do about him. Some of them are as crazy obsessive as he is - Hegseth, RFK jr, Miller. They’re easier to explain as complete nutcases who inhabit alternate realities. Others, like the billionaire bro backers, obviously want more money and power and don’t care about anything else. That leaves a whole lot of people who support him and work for him. They’re the ones who make me wonder what mental quirks they have, what lusts or fears, that keep them on board in the face of his growing mental and emotional instability and his frantic need for fall guys to take the blame for his glaringly public faults and failures. After all, if everyone left, he couldn’t do much on his own. At some point, wouldn’t the saner ones jump ship?

Claudia Kinsley's avatar

Hahaha, "saner ones"? I can't imagine just who I would describe as"saner". Can you give me a hint please.

donna's avatar

Just the people doing basic jobs in the executive branch - hoping for better - needing their paychecks. And people who always voted republican because that’s what their family and friends always did. You would never know their names - but who enable work to be done. Are they leaving, and we don’t hear about it? Are they stuck because of paycheck? I’m curious about what makes people change their minds, when they’re just average followers - not fanatic believers. It’s obvious that people get punished and thrown off the bus. When does the average follower-worker figure that out? And how do we convince a lot of them to just leave? Jump before they’re shoved, or prosecuted? Leaving the principles to wander the halls throwing ketchup at the walls and at each other, because there’s no one left to follow an illegal order.

Linda Laz's avatar

I still don’t understand (nor will I ever) why so many sycophants kowtow to his every whim. The guy’s gonna die sooner than later and then where will they be? How does he maintain so much power in his dotage? Is it really the grifting, hatred of most humans including US citizens, and his goals to be the meanest MFer in world history? Ugh!

Francesca Cee's avatar

My guess is a combination of blackmail, bribery, greed, and just for power.

Annie Weeks's avatar

I have wondered that for years.

Michelle Boydston's avatar

I agree with you about this Mary. It will take decades to try and get him and his deviant behavior he’s guilty of. I personally don’t like him either but wow they both deserved that! I can’t think of any person who thinks he’s done anything wrong. 🙄🤬 Bondi and Noem lol 😂. He got that one right. I think Levitt needs to be next and Patel. JD will probably at some point will be thrown under the bus. That’s the truth.

Linda Nation's avatar

. . . "the one thing he can’t be protected from is himself." Thankfully this will ensure his downfall.

Robot Bender's avatar

Trump needs to buy a second bus. He's running out of room under the current one.

Kathleen's avatar

I heard someone ask if he fired her, why did Trump say "we love Pam" etc. Obviously because she knows exactly what is in the Epstein files.
