His family are really gonna sue. Renee Good's family are definitely gonna sue. There should be a fair and dire warning to federal agents who commit unlawful actions, Mary. They will be held accountable, because if they are not being held accountable, they will remain a danger to themselves, to their families, and to everyone else.

Lise Hull's avatar

Aside from being sued, they should be tried for murder, convicted and imprisoned.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

Civil suits aren’t enough. Where evidence supports it, criminal charges and prison sentences are how accountability actually happens.

Kathleen M Grosso's avatar

Wonder if its the same POS who killed Renee Good

Jade Theresa Robinson's avatar

There are many more pos's in ICE. It has become a job requirement.

Quite concerned's avatar

Isn't ice filled with garbage people who charged the Capitol bldg on J6?

Michael's avatar

Yes, I think they all are ice, but there happens to be a lot of others, like white supremest, Neo-Nazis and the like

Lauren's avatar

It's the Gestapo.

Lauren's avatar

Go ahead and call it the Gestapo.

Michael's avatar

No, it was other ice agents, the one that shot Renee Good was relocated to another state for his protection, like he needs protecting.

Rick Robin Cagnaan's avatar

Even if he and his family are in hiding, they are complicit. And whoever is protecting him is complicit.

Michael's avatar

What makes you think they all aren't complicit?

Winston Smith London Oceania's avatar

Probably not. He's still in hiding.

John Michael's avatar

Remember, there are more guns in this country than citizens. The opposition to this regime have the numbers. If this shit doesn’t stop, the gun brandishing will move more to the left side and they will hit the streets with fire arms on every occasion. NO-ONE is going to continue to allow this. Someone’s gonna tip, and when they do, we are going to have a civil war.

Fortunately, as you can see, these aren’t the smartest or best trained. Someone in government needs to grow up and enter the room NOW or a significant portion of the population will be dead. The Nazi’s got millions and these goons my friends and country people , are Nazi’s.

God Bless the American People.

Ruth Sheets's avatar

Resist, it would be justice to have the convicted murderers imprisoned at one of the concentration camp prisons under the same conditions that those they kidnapped faced, maybe for a few weeks before going to a high-security prison.

Hound's avatar

These gestapo agents are immune from prosecution most of the time.

Here’s what will happen, justice will not be done by the courts and Americans will move onto something else that pisses them off.

Rick Robin Cagnaan's avatar

Any family member related to any federal agent doing unlawful actions are not safe because they are complicit. Some of them will disown them.

RESIST | FIGHT's avatar

Accountability is individual—not inherited.

Rick Robin Cagnaan's avatar

As it should be. If they won’t take responsibility, anyone related to them might be at risk of collective punishment if they are complicit, unless some take command responsibility. Which neither ICE and CBP will.

Michael's avatar

Don't put ideas into MAGA heads, the law would blame us for it.

Rick Robin Cagnaan's avatar

Any MAGA justifying these unlawful killings is complicit.

Hound's avatar

I don’t think they’ll be a lawsuit because these criminals have qualified immunity. It’s very difficult to bring lawsuits against the feds. I doubt if this murderer will be brought to trial and if he is and if he is convicted Trump or Vance will pardon him.

A lot of the ICE criminals are criminals that Trump pardon after the January 6 insurrection. The police should’ve opened fire on Trump goon squad MAGATS.

Mamie's avatar

I just learned the Feds have been ordered to preserve all evidence, by a federal judge. If they don’t, they can at least be held responsible for that.

Hound's avatar

Let’s hope something will come of that. I wouldn’t be holding my breath if I were you to any justice will be done.

The only thing that held the Nazis responsible was Nuremberg with its firing squads and gallows.

The MAGATS hate a lot of things but I think what it is that they hate the most is, the rule of law.

Mamie's avatar

Not holding my breath for anything with this regime. But Minnesotans are resourceful.

Mary Walterman's avatar

Noem, Bovine, Patel and trump should all be sued personally for defamation in regard to the statements they made about Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good. These cases should be filed in Minnesota courts.

Mamie's avatar

I’m thinking the MN Attorney General, Keith Ellison and the Hennepin County Attorney, Mary Moriarty will be keeping evidence files until such time as they are able to access the Feds’ evidence. Then they will build a case, and there is no statute of limitations for murder. There was skepticism that they could convict the murderer (and accomplices) of George Floyd, but that happened.

Maureen O'Malley's avatar

And the state officials in both cases are being denied their right and duty to investigate. Sounds like what would in normal people a guilty conscience.

Rick Robin Cagnaan's avatar

Then they are complicit if they are intimidated into submission, but it’s clear that they had to do something to ensure accountability.

Elisabeth Birker's avatar

I hope like shootin that they will sue!!! Not that it will help. Not that it will come out of the right pocket! 😭💔🤬😱🤮

Hound's avatar

Unfortunately the United States is not a nation of laws or justice or fairness or morality. Trump was convicted of 34 felonies and set free by a judge who should be hung by his feet like they did the Mussolini.

Jan Myslajek's avatar

Sueing isn’t going to get them anywhere. They’ll just play Trump’s game of denying and never paying.

Rick Robin Cagnaan's avatar

There will come a time when collective punishment becomes a thing and will target Donald Trump, his sycophants and his attack dogs.

Hound's avatar

You are 100% right. Maybe in a country of laws in justice, justice could be done at least to some degree. It’s almost impossible to sue the federal government.

The people don’t judge in the same way as courts. They don’t hand down sentences. They throw lightning bolts. They drop tyrant back into the void. Their Justice is swift and permanent.

If we expect the government to investigate itself and act surprised that they find no wrongdoing, we are the fools.

Randy S. Eisenberg's avatar

“Defund ICE!” is not a rallying cry any more than “Wait til 2026!” Well, it is 2026, I have zero confidence they will allow anything but a hollow sham of a fraudulent, dictatorial “election”. Don’t get mad, get even.

Brook Hedge's avatar

Where is his cell phone ??

Where did they take the body?

Elisabeth Birker's avatar

I’m thinking too…how awful must the young woman feel, whom he aided? !!! What an awful, incomprehensible situation. Just revolting 🤮

Susan Nathiel's avatar

I hope Minnesota police and national guard can raise a ruckus about how this case is being mishandled. Minnesota courts are ready and waiting. This is a George Floyd moment.

Wallis Weir's avatar

Susan Wladaver-Morgan's avatar

And what happened to the witnesses and their phones with video? I know some of the witnesses were “detained,” the all purpose euphemism for God knows what.

Kathleen M Grosso's avatar

I think I saw & heard on MS Now that he was trying to put in his coat pocket when the Gestapo wrestled him to the ground

Winston Smith London Oceania's avatar

And then beat him savagely before murdering him in cold blood.

Jean Rosenfeld's avatar

Where is the woman he was trying to protect? She is a critical witness.

John David's avatar

Bovino, Noem, and Bondi are a disgrace. They lie and kill with impunity. Congress needs to refuse to provide further funds to ICE.

Velovixen's avatar

Bovino—If I were a buffalo, or even a cow, I would be offended that such a person has such a name,

Linda LLOYD's avatar

Fire or impeach.

Pasqual Allen's avatar

He was a great man. They killed two heroes. What they did. He was helping a woman who was being pushed pepper sprayed. And they ganged up on him. 5 guys on one. They beat him. And they removed his gun. That he was rightfully able to carry and they shot him 10 times. And they murdered him. That was murder. That was an execution.

Susan Nathiel's avatar

Sounds like these big tough ICE guys, armed to the teeth, wearing masks, are so scared of one guy with a phone.

How many of them did it take to shoot one guy in the back?

Vicki Herd's avatar

Trump and Bondi should be forced to resign over this fiasco.

Karen O’Quinn's avatar

And Noem and Patel too!

Elisabeth Birker's avatar

Resign? I would swing an axe 🪓!!!

Vicki Herd's avatar

Baby steps. Any world leader operating under the old rules of moral character would resign under the circumstances, however we know that is no longer in play in America.

Lauren's avatar

They need to be charged. We need Nuremberg 2.0 type trials.

Alex Pretti. Nurses have to be their own family in some ways. Some days the mental load we must carry is more than we can do alone. For many of us, we have been helpers out of the womb. We do much of the work others just cannot do. We are ok with that. Alex was a helper. He took his last breath trying to help a lady. May our leaders take the example of Alex to remember their goal and mission should be that of HELPING the American people. Please HELP us save our democracy like Alex was trying to do. Please stop turning your backs on us. If you were in our ER or ICU or hospice, we would NEVER do that to you, no matter who you were. We would make damn sure you were comfortable and care for your every need with impeccable detail and precision-doing the work most cannot. All of this for a menial pay. Here you are leaders of the government worried about how to maintain your millionaire status all at the expense of our democracy. You know who you are and if this applies to you shame on you. Think about this deeply because there will be a day in your life when you, or someone you love, will need the care of a good nurse in the ER or ICU or hospice. All your damn money will not mean a thing on that day but your care from that nurse will mean a lot. Our democracy is in the ICU. Alex was trying to save it. We are doing our best to try to save ourselves because many of YOU, our leaders, are feckless. We as nurses think we can do anything. That's what makes us courageous to face whatever is thrown at us and figure it out.

No matter what your political party, we should ALL be banding together to SAVE THIS DEMOCRACY. At some point, the ONLY thing that matters is doing the right thing. When you come into my hospice, ER or ICU, your party affiliation is irrelevant. I am going to care for you with all my heart, the best I know how. Leaders-please stand up to all this evil shitstorm and do the right things. Be courageous. Have integrity. Tell the truth. Stand up to intimidation. Call out evil. Stop cruelty. Be creative. Act NOW. Collectively, y'all can shut this shit down. This is inexcusable. I would NEVER allow this abhorrent behavior in my ER or ICU or hospice.

It is not too late. The nurses like Alex perform miracles in ICUs everyday. You, our leaders, can perform a miracle for our nation by standing up for what is right. You MUST do it now before our country is just a flatline without a pulse.

Monica Mac's avatar

As a fellow nurse, I admire your words and understand them completely.

When you are having the worst day of your life, a nurse will be there to offer comfort, to ease your pain and give support to your loved ones. Every patient matters to us, no matter what. On that day, the worst of your life, all the money in your bank account won't matter a whit.

My heart breaks for Alex's family and friends (and his dog :( ).

Patty Mooney's avatar

Alex was an angel. They who murdered him must now live with themselves.

Dean Sigler's avatar

My daughter, who works in a local hospital, posted a line from a feminist organization: "One ICU nurse is worth more than the entirety of ICE." Those predatory thugs remind me of the Orc from Lord of the Rings, soulless and heartless.

Debi's avatar

One ICU nurse is definitely worth more than ALL OF ICE. ICU nurses are excellent beyond description. On the other hand, the dog poop in my back yard is more worthy than those cretin thugs that comprise ICE, and I absolutely include Bovino and Noem within ICE as part of that analogy. ICE MUST BE REMOVED AND DISBANDED - THEY DO NOT MEET THE STANDARDS THE USA DESERVES AND EXPECTS

Lila Berman's avatar

Heartbreaking and infuriating. This feels like Nazi Germany.

Lynne D. Feldman's avatar

If he isn't a twin to the esteemed, ethical, empathic Noah Wiley and his tv persona, "Dr. Robbie" on the hit show THE PITT. Remember how "Robbie" taught his students to stay with a newly deceased patient out of respect for their humanity? I cried when I saw a video of Alex doing the exact same moment of silence over the body of a newly deceased VA patient. Good heavens, how can any person claiming to have a religious or spiritual sense not grieve for this wonderful human being. The NAZI regime behaves as we'd expect them to, but for the rest of the nation, I am speechless for their complicity in dehumanizing a giving, caring, sensitive soul.

Trish's avatar

There's a video of several people at the hospital where Alex's body was taken - the stretcher, and he was covered by a special covering, and one of the men stood at the end and spoke about him briefly, in a very formal manner, honoring him. Then they wheeled him away. It was very moving.

Music.cheryl@gmail.com's avatar

Unless there is a new video, the one I saw was Alex himself reading a prayer over a deseased person at the VA where he worked, then wheeled the deseased out.

Mary Ann Vecchio's avatar

Unbelievable this happened again. This kinda hit home. I worked at the VA in another state. I loved the nurses who worked there. Prayers for Minnesota.

Laura A. Drury's avatar

Alex Pretti’s last words were,”Are you ok?” He was more concerned about the woman who was violently shoved by the ICE agent. He was an RN who worked at the VA hospital as an ICU Nurse… so he obviously had it in him to care about other people. Renee Nicole Good’s last words were,” It’s ok, I’m not mad at you, dude.” These are the people that Greg Bovino, Kristy Noem, Kash Patel and JD Vance want people to believe were “domestic terrorists”. It’s sickening. RIP Alex Pretti 💐🙏😢

Elisabeth Birker's avatar

They murdered Mr Pretti, because they could, not because of anything he did. 😭😭😭💔💔💔😱😱😱🤬🤬🤬

Thank you for saying it so plainly, Mary!
