Why was this war started in the first place? To take everyone's mind off the Epstein Files, of course, plus all the other stealing that is going on.

klutt7358@yahoo.com's avatar

Exactly. trump treated this "war" like it was some kind of video game, when grew tired of the game he could just shut it off. Unfortunately for him reality doesn't work that way and now he is caught trying to undo a mess he created. Iran isn't playing the same game. Not trump or anyone else in his administration is capable of putting together a plan for everyone concerning Iran, so here we are. Oh and we still haven't forgotten about the Epstein files.

Sandra, and the MAGAs don't even get it. They have decided they should love and protect their Baby Donnie from all those bad people who correctly accuse him of stealing from the American people, cheating in elections, and threatening members of congress and Republicans in elected office across the country. The MAGAs pretend that Baby Donnie is brilliant and it is everyone to the "left" who doesn't know anything. I guess if one works hard enough at it, one can convince oneself of anything, even in the face of reality and you know, facts!

I think it’s worsening dementia, layered on a low-IQ (his fave insult), sociopath.

They (meaning his base)want the real Trump back. There is only one Trump and he’s a selfish and self-centered bullshit artist!

Not even an "artist", just a flipping lying bastard!!

Thanks Mary- as usual, you hit every nail on its head!

Is this finally Donald’s “The emperor has no clothes” moment? I pray that it is… but I’m waiting for Fox News to turn on him first. And that hasn’t happened yet , has it?

JOHN MILLER's avatar

Fox still believes they can control what MAGA sees. There are a hundred ways to control the news with AI and the tools access grants them.

Could Putin be influencing Trump, resulting in his obsequious bowing to Iran?

Doesn’t Putin stand to gain out of all this since Russia and Iran are allies?

If only they had been warned!

Ever tried to talk sense to a MAGA? They call MAGA a cult for a reason.....they are conditioned to deflect anything and everything that disagrees with or questions what the MAGA cult has drilled into them. It's not normal at all.

How many have too much invested in Trump to give up now?

Pat Chubb's avatar

Anyone who thinks Trump is the “ ultimate badass” for blowing up Venezuelans against whom not a shred of credible evidence has been released is fighting with Trump for the lowest red hat IQ.

Pat, no one ever accused the MAGAt poisoned Kook Aid drinkers of being Einsteins. The neanderthal comment you quoted above is just the tip of the iceberg. Remember his hero's 2016 bold statement right before the Iowa caucus: "I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?"

And with the SCOTUS Shameful 6 aiding and abetting him with its heinous 07/01/2024 presidential immunity decision, he could probably get away with it. He now has the power of a monarch and is using it to bring America to its knees in tribute.

As the English historian and politician Lord Acton stated in an 1887 letter to an Anglican bishop: "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely."

And here we are.

Perhaps this is my psychological training rearing it’s head, but I simply cannot understand how any reasonably sane, rational person could have ever believed that Donald was a badass, or a good businessman, or a skilled negotiator. Bullies are frightened children hiding behind a house of cards. Those who were taken in have created a monster that all of us must endure - and hope to defeat.

As for those who still believe the myth, and contend that Vance isn’t representing Donald well, have they asked themselves why the greatest deal maker on the face of the earth, the greatest deal maker in the history of the world, isn’t doing those negotiations himself? And I can’t help but wonder if they notice that Donald stands alone in international gatherings, snubbed by the rest of the world. How could that possibly be interpreted as strength and power? But I may be asking rational questions at a time when the irrational among us have the loudest voices.

Lark J. Hapke's avatar

Ditto! Sadly those are rational questions for those who are would probably still vote for him tomorrow. I’m a clergy woman who deals with a few of those in the orange cult…and I ask myself your question, ‘how can?’ everyday. It truly is disturbing in so many ways

Better late than never. The question is what are they going to do about their poor decision to elect a guy who just won't go away?

The mask has slipped.

They've always believed him, even when they knew he was lying. They've gone silent on the Epstein Files. He's never been held accountable for anything, never taken responsibility. I doubt that will change. There's grumbling and hopefully the disappointment will keep right-wingers away from the polls.

The only buck that's ever stopped at the Resolute Desk during both his terms is his grift.

Smedley Butler wrote “War Is A Racket.” Donald’s life has been one racket after another.

Stunning to see this and be reminded of the testimonies, interviews I saw, frivolous lawsuits and people and institutions who will never be on a bravery list.
