Your uncle has turned many things he's touched in the past into shit. This war is going to be his greatest accomplishment of turning something he touched into shit.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

He sure is “good” at something, isn’t he?

Bob De Thomas's avatar

LOL-That's true! I've never thought of it that way.

What scares me is their retaliation on us because of his actions. And then there are so many unnecessary deaths with this war and ICE actions….. Pains my heart. Scares me too. Innocents blood will cry from the earth. ☹️

Patris's avatar

We would retaliate.

It was inhumane and arbitrary, nothing gained but generational hatred that will blow back on us again and again.

Hegseth is a war criminal, the men on that submarine drawn into his darkness.

djw's avatar

Also a murderer. They aren't mutually exclusive.

Unfortunately "war criminal" charges are meaningless since the U.S. as well as Russia are not signatories to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. I believe the U.S. withdrew it when Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld's "extraordinary rendition" and waterboarding could have resulted in them being charged if they left this country. Trump is consistent -- in wrecking our international relationships and alliances, wrecking our economy, and causing angry division in the country he claims to love. He ruins everything.

Everything Trump touches…dies.

I think we can safely say he‘s a criminal…doesn’t need a further descriptor. Also, he is an arrogant asshole!

ConnieW's avatar

He’s a moron and a phony, always playing to the cameras. He thinks murdering people shows strength.

Murdering young girls in a school is just horrible. He is reckless and dangerous. This war must end.

Thank you, Mary❤️. Tough week. The world feels unbearably heavy right now. Every headline this week seems to carry another reminder of how much noise, pain, anger, and indifference exist around us. It’s strange how a place capable of such beauty can also hold so much cruelty and brokenness, like watching something sacred slowly fracture. This sadness isn’t just personal to me. It feels vast, stretching across oceans and borders. We all share a grief for what humanity could be, and how far away it still feels. 😢💔

The human race is a primitive one. Yes, there are pockets of good people, it’s just that

we are essentially backwards and destroying ourselves as a species, not to mention all non human beings.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

Yes. The world feels unbearably heavy now. The sadness is vast and everywhere.

No reason he can't be both. Although 2 thoughts could actually break his brain.

Joyce's avatar

I came here to say to say BOTH.

He reminds of a childhood bully in my neighborhood who got a new (toy) gun for Christmas, and went around "shooting" at all the other kids in the neighborhood. Hegseth just got control of a lot of new "toys" and his "Daddy" let's him play with them. Their arrogance and lack of wisdom is appalling.

If these damned republicans in congress won't rein the orange goon in, then they are just as guilty of these crimes as he is.

Velovixen's avatar

If we make it through all of this, I hope there is a Nuremberg-type tribunal. I can just hear those Republicans (and many Democrats) bleating, “I was following orders!” or “I was just getting Big Macs and Diet Cokes for Dear Leader.”

Speaking of Nuremberg: If Trump, Hesgeth, et al attack other countries and kills American citizens, could they be charged with crimes again humanity in such a trial? Some countries, like France, have actually made Crimes Against Humanity, according to the Nuremberg definition, part of their criminal codes.

Charlotte Thompson's avatar

I am beyond sick of this never-ending nightmare. If congress had impeached him the first time, we would have been rid of the scum. Of course, Mitch the Bitch had to let him off.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

We know the Republicans will never stop obeying their Dear Leader. That is painful to see.

Secretary of War Crimes. It would be interesting to have a look at psychological profiles of this thug, who's not only one in terms of policy but also in the standard physical sense, just ask his mother. He truly embodies traditional fascism's celebration of force over reason and cult of violence.

Judy CZUBATI's avatar

When they renamed it DEPARTMENT OF WAR…alarm bells went off everywhere. For good reason, apparently. He wants the military to be full of White Nationalists. How many have the same NAZI tattoos as Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater?

Gregg Hill's avatar

We know that right-wing extremists such as neo-Nazis aside from serving as mercenaries in the Ukraine War have been joining the US military as well as the police for years, so in answer to your question I'd guess quite a few. They'd work well with their Jewish counterparts in the IDF, even if a lot if not most of them are antisemitic.

While the U.S. doesn’t recognize the International Criminal Court that is no reason not to bring charges against Trump, Hegseth and whoever else might be liable. Indictments would severely limit Donald’s ability to visit his golf courses in Scotland. Pete might not care about not being able to leave the country, he doesn’t strike me as a man of the world unless he can f it up, but even Fox might be reluctant to hire a wanted war criminal. If Netanyahu and Putin can be indicted certainly our two world class cutthroats are certainly prime candidates.

djw's avatar

I have an idea he needs to stay away from Scotland anyway. The hounds are baying.

Laura Pils's avatar

Of course it's a war crime and a murder. Everything this regime does is criminal - wherever and whenever they can, they make the wrong choice, and the bad choice. Horrible, incompetent, fools.

The Reality Show From Hell. We are all locked inside the movie theatre.

In this case - Is there a difference?

Hegseth is still clearly drinking. He sounds like an utter moron every time he opens his mouth.

carolea hassard's avatar

Hegseth, murderer and war criminal. And bully. And sick, sick, sick.

So the US torpedoed and sank an unarmed Iranian Frigate on its way home from Naval exercises (at India's invitation) leaving 87 officers and sailors in training to drown in international waters.

Yep, we're definitely the bad guys now.
