Heres hoping for an historic upset. Anyone who thinks billionaires should be allowed to openly buy elections is an unamerican piece of shit.

Oh, boy! Tonight’s victory in Wisconsin brings out the smug in me — rather like the spurned first wife who, having been put through a humiliating divorce, gets her satisfaction from watching as wife #2 takes her hapless ex to the cleaners, reducing

the poor sod to a life of abject poverty.

Wisconsin voters thankfully showed Muskrat that no amount of money could get Schimel onto the state Supreme Court. Musk wasted his money.

I am so proud of Senator Cory Booker for his extraordinary stamina. He broke the previous record for the longest time speaking on the Senate floor!

D. Charlene, yeah, and isn't it awesome that Booker, a Black Senator outlasted the filibuster record of a pathetic white guy who didn't think anyone but rich white men should have civil rights?

Yes. And, let me remind everyone, the pathetic white guy ( a racist ) got his young, Black housekeeper pregnant.

If Musk believes people heckling him are "Soros operatives," what is he? I have never heard of George Soros going to state elections and handing out checks for a lottery. So, Musk, what is it that you think makes you better than George Soros?

Expand full comment
Michael's avatar

musk does not care about handing out the checks, he will only get that back and then some. For a guy who gets paid millions a day from our taxes, any money he hands out will not hurt his bank account.

Expand full comment
SLMontgo's avatar

I wonder why so many people seem OK that Musk gets paid millions a day from our taxes.

Expand full comment
Michael's avatar

That is what I said earlier in this thread. He gets over 200 million a day, his team gets thousands a day too, and that is all of our tax money, every dollar he saves, he makes. No one elected him, he is not from this country, he just bought the felon, and the felon is letting him do what ever he wants to our country.

Their attacks on George Soros reek of antisemitism and jealousy. Soros has used his money to support civil society and small d democratic initiatives. He does not support Communism or socialism, but his attackers are totally unable to see this. Soros even funded a fellowship which allowed Viktor Orbán to attend a graduate program on participating in a democratic parliamentary system. Unfortunately, when Orbán came to power, he started turning his back on a democratic system in Hungary and started on the road to dictatorship. Orbán seems to have taken Hungary’s interwar leader, Miklós Horthy, as his role model for prime minister.

I suspect his support of civil society is precisely why he is under such constant attack, plus the ubiquitous Anti-Semitism we must endure in this maga era. I wonder just what a Jew ever did to hurt one of these goons. Of course, they believe everything they hear from childhood forward. Surely not a shred of critical thinking has ever crossed their walnut-sized brains.

I definitely think they are attacking George Soros for supporting civil society initiatives. MAGA views these like poison.

Every time I see/hear/read his words, I am more and more convinced that Phony Stark is mentally challenged. Not the autism - believe me, that is something I understand all too well. When he talks, his sentences don’t make sense at all. I usually have to read his words two or three times to get to what his actual thoughts are. I don’t think he’s “brilliant “ or a genius. I believe he is a really good grifter. I mean REALLY good. Better, even, than the Traitor Tot.

He’s also extremely narcissistic, just like his BFF Donald Trump. The ketamine use distorts Musk’s thinking just as much as his personality disorders do. If Musk isn’t careful, he’s going to wind up either serious urinary tract problems as a side effect of his ketamine abuse.

I very much appreciate your approach to writing this article in that you did quote Elon Musk and Duffy’s propaganda and lies, but you also countered those lies with facts! - this is exactly what we need -

I can’t stand when the mainstream media repeats Trump‘s lies without any opposition based on facts and the law - thereby just amplifying to a larger audience. The lies that were told

The answer to this problem of the Judicial Branch taking over from the legislative branch the issue of redistricting for federal elections was addressed in A Perfect Democracy, It was the first part of the Constitution to be abused. It happened one year after ratification by the State of Virginia when Patrick Henry, James Madison and James Monroe were vying for a Congressional sear from Virginia. It has been 250 years since and gerrymandering has almost become a science it is used so often. The solution is simple":TAKE REDISTRICTING FOR FEDERAL ELECTIONS AWAY FROM THE STATES and give it to a FEDERAL REDISTRICTING BOARD with 2 members from each state and all 100 have a say in what is acceptable in every state. THE State members act as checks and balances on each other.

MI passed an initiative to create a board comprised of D, R and independents to redraw the districts. It was completed and in place for the last election. When it was analyzed, it didn’t favor any one party.

All that said, we desperately need to get big $$, dark $$, et al out of elections
