I can't vote on Election Day anymore. I'm too nervous about some random thing happening that will stop me from voting. Even in a Blue State I want to get my vote in early. But at least you'll be voting early (before lunch you mentioned!). Appreciate all you do.
In meditation, in prayer, and in facing life’s challenges, being centered is fundamental — but not easy. As in pottery, so too in politics. Thank you for the reminder!
You're a potter? There's nothing more meditative than feeling the clay spin through your fingers. Time just disappears as the cylinders pile up on the shelf next to you.
Honestly, I started pottery because I had such a temper that I wanted to smash things. I figured no one could get mad if I smashed stuff I made myself. Now I use pottery as a means of telling Dictatortot to F Off.
Pottery is my life. If you ever need someone to geek out with, here I am!
I taught Ceramics for many years, and love how you so brilliantly describe the process of centering. Very therapeutic and critically necessary as we navigate this massively anxiety producing period. Always grateful to you for your wisdom as well...it has kept me borderline sane through the madness of this hideous chapter.
Awesome, Mary! ❤️ I loved pottery class back when I was an art major. You’re inspiring me to try it again! There’s something so intimate and grounding about it, plus the magic of creating something with your own hands. 💫
I too will be having lunch with an old, dear friend on Tuesday. He was my first Latin teacher, who’s now a retired Episcopalian priest pushing 86 years. He centers me greatly, using similar techniques as your pottery! He and I will reconvene a day or two after the election to review our prospects. thank you, Mary . . .
Perfect advice, dear Mary. Gives me hope when I consider all of the like-minded coming together from MANY different arenas. Many blessings. (But I admit to still doing a whole lot of clenching...)

Coolest of Beans, Mary!
May we ALL find our Center...
and hold it close.

Mary and Cap, thank y'all for the "Centered" metaphor! I think our beautiful nation as a whole could use a comfy, warm blanket, too!

May we all find reason to stay calm and centered after the storm passes!
Thank you for encouraging us to stay calm during the aftermath of the election results.

Take care Mary always, and thinking of you and the country. 🙏💕🙏
Good job on the pot! I prefer hand building. That's great for a first attempt! It should be squished up and falling over lol
Beautiful!
Enjoy your day ~ recharge and relax 💙💙
