Afghan allies, 1100 of them, who have been stuck in Qatar after being evacuated from Afghanistan have been told they can either be flown to the Congo or back to Afghanistan. I'm pretty sure no President has ever treated people who fought for us against a group who helped effect the deadliest terrorist attacks ever. A country that the President has never lifted a finger to protect.

I tell people I am pro-veteran and pro-military personnel precisely because I am anti-war. Anyone who serves should not want for anything: It’s a disgrace to see one living under a railroad overpass (like one I used to see on my way to work). And anyone who respects the folks in uniform—they are, after all, human beings, whatever their motivations for enlisting—would be judicious in deploying them.
Donald’s attitude is the opposite: He calls the ones who lost their lives in battle “suckers” and “losers,” yet he is the most bellicose President of my lifetime, if not American history. And he loves him his military parades. Some of that may have to do with his basic temperament (you, Mary, would know better than I could): He’s like the guy who’s ready to start a fight with someone who bumps into him on the street. And he’s a military magpie: He likes the bright, shiny medals and long metal objects. But most of all, war brings him and glory (at least in his mind) and wealth.
About the Bonwit Teller friezes: He had one of his lackeys write a letter, under the guise of a Met Museum curator, saying they were worthless, which provided a rationale for ordering his workers to jackhammer them into rubble.
