Perhaps what we are calling support is really something called identity fusion. The cult members are in the thrall of a cult leader who gives them mostly false promises and spurious reasons for staying together. However, in social fusion, the cult members have little or no care whatsoever about whether other members survive. That’s why as soon as MAGA starts eating their own, the end will be near, but this is unlikely to happen before Trump passes. May angels and ministers of grace defend us.
As always Mary, wonderful article! I would say you are right that his MAGA bros dismiss the killing because Renee Nicole Good was openly gay. They truly don't understand the country they live in. They recognize only people who agree with them, and like trump, hate anyone who is different from them.
Ice agents need immediate oversight by a real shadow law enforcement agency who is on the ground with them to reign them in.. could it by activated nation guard personnel who know rights the governor had brought in? Someone had to step up to put a check on this rampant disregard for law
