You have given us an excellent overview of the current state of our failing government and the moral health of our nation. As we awake each morning, we must confront the repercusions that Trump's visceral self-serving urges have on all aspects of our lives, which create pervasive unpredictability and resulting high anxiety. We have entered a grave new world.
As usual, great job Mary. You're in a unique position being a clinical psychologist while at the same time being a family member. To me, your uncle is a nearly 80-year-old child. His tantrums are his middle-of-the-night Truth Socials posts.
Thank you so much, Mary, for reporting a clear review of some of the major aspects of the current chaos. It really helps to have someone else break things down into increments. That takes away some of the sense of feeling overwhelmed that can often accompany the rapid flood of BS coming from the current administration.
Thank you for the podcast, Mary. You speak Truth to power. The only way you can. That is how the news is and should be reported. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you like. But I can’t help but to notice thaf CBS is closing its radio news division (just short of its centennial) as CBS becomes more of a Trump mouthpiece. (Maybe they think the Fox “business model” will work for them.) Elderly and poor people, and members of racial and ethnic minorities, rely more heavily on radio for news and entertainment than younger, whiter, richer folks. It’s one of the few media venues that can be accessed without a subscription or internet connection, and a battery- operated radio works during power outages, which affect the poorer, older and darker people disproportionately. Radio also offers people news and information about their local communities in ways other media cannot. Cut off people from their local communities and you cut them off from the world.
Fantastic reporting, Mary…
Thank you for all the information, Mary! What a sh#t show we are in. 💔

I still believe that justice is on the way, just around the corner.
