I was in WH years ago. Beautiful, I was there before JFK AND JACKIE AND AGAIN AFTER the Kennedys. My husband and I loved the Rose Garden. When I drove kids, I parked in the Ellipse anf there is a place for helicopters to drop down on the grass( no torn up grass as liar, liar, pants on fire said) We loves all of DC AND THE REFLECTION POOL that liar , pants on fire has torn up and made ugly. He should be charged with crimes for making a beautiful place look like crap. Every thing he touches turns into -- -- -- t.
As a Canadian, never having visited the White House but reading the comments here the one good thing about not visiting it or Washington DC for that matter is that I have been spared the heartbreak over what the POS POTUS and his minions have done to it and are continuing to do to it. Instead I feel only disgust with and burning contempt for this regime and sympathy for my fellow North Americans.
He is costing the citizens/taxpayers a small fortune with his tacky renovations. I know no one else with as much gold inside a home. I know no one who prefers cement to roses.
I laughed out loud Mary, even though it is terribly sad. Why doesn't he just point one of those helicopters of his towards the building and just blow it to hell? Why do it piecemeal? Then he can employ all of the "illegal" immigrants he is jailing to rebuild it into a magnificent golden Trump Tower, just as it was originally built by slaves. But, of course, he will would be unhappy in its rebuilding, although it could contain his name on the front of every portico! Wow, now that's something I'd like to visit.
I remember reading once about how Ulysses S. Grant as US president had the White House ballroom redone, and critics at the time complained that it looked like a saloon. Grant while not personally corrupt himself (he left office a poor man until the publication of his memoirs by Mark Twain made him and his family financially comfortable in his last days), he presided over one of the most corrupt administrations in US history. In those two respects, Grant's alleged bad taste and a corrupt administration, Trump is near infinitely worse, and regarding moral character Trump wouldn't be fit to tie Grant's shoes. That's not to say that Grant was a paragon of virtue, only Trump is such human garbage that even the worst US presidents before him look like philosopher kings by comparison.

Donald Trump has no intentions of leaving the White House when his term in office is over in 2028.
That is why he started all this destroying of the White House grounds. He doesn't plan on leaving until he is carried out of there. And he is leaving us the taxpayers with a rotten bill for repairs. He plans to stay and be a dictator. Set himself up as King Trump.
It would be cheaper to tear it down. Close in the wall that he destroyed and reconstruct the building back to what it was and make Trump pay for it. Nobody gave him permission to destroy our White House building.
And you are right. But he did violate the city historical foundation rules. He never got their permission to do what he has done. Look at the Washington Monument another one of his disasters a bill we are left with. The truth is I believe he hates this country.
