Aye, as much as I've loved seeing the photos/videos of the massive protests, as much as I've loved seeing the poll numbers...... here's to hoping nobody jinxed it. I'm not very sure how many really leave voting to the last (late) hours of the day on a Sunday, tbh.

Cheers from Hungary, thank you for all your positive energy! 👋🏻

Hound's avatar

I’d love seeing the Hungarians stone Orban to death while they’re holding signs that say you are next Trump

PARAN0ID.doll's avatar

I’d be happy seeing him unseated at all, for a start…

Hound's avatar

That would be a start but like in the United States there has to be a lot of corruption in Hungary for this to have happened in the first place.

PARAN0ID.doll's avatar

Oh, more than you'd imagine, yes. JUST LIKE in the US, indeed.... literally. lol 😔

And Franklin said the problem with democracy is keeping it.

We need to be vigilant as a people. We also need to stand up to the punks and bullies in the corporate world and in Congress.

By the way 2/3 of members of Congress or millionaires. How did they become billionaires in a couple of years when their salary we pay them is $200,000? Answer to that is simple, they get that filthy rich through various methods of bribery. Most of it is insider trading. And a country of laws we would’ve confiscated their wealth And locked them up.

Excellent! Now, let us pray for our own. 🙏

Hungarians are good people. The Russians are total trash most of them.

What warms my heart when it comes to Russia and Russians is that Ukraine is on track to kill 50,000 Russian invaders per month. It must be very satisfying for those Ukrainian drone operators to exterminate Russian vermin.

The next dictator that needs to go is Lukashenko. There is a certain genetic evil among certain people in that region. It’s not like that any place in the world other than the Bible Belt in America where people are just evil beings beyond redemption.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

Hound, let’s not paint us all in the Bible Belt as evil. I’m a recovering Republican. I live in a large Democratic county in Texas. I can assure you there are lots of us that flipped because of the orange pedophile. In fact Texans are turning our state Purple. Thanks! Ski

RRiveter's avatar

And not all Russians are "trash". What a thing to say about a conglomeration of people. Never confuse the so-called leader of a country with its people. What a mistake.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

Agreed. I’m sure there are lots of good Russians like there are Texans. Maybe Hound is having a bad day.

RRiveter's avatar

Who knows, or maybe just anti Slavic and/or anti Bible Belt folks. Again, NEVER confuse a country's so-called leaders with the common folk. Yes, there are those folks who are not very understandable, and whom you probably would not wish to associate with, but "trash and vermin?" Sounds very Third Reich to me.

My impression of "Hound" (from previous comments on Mary's Substack) is he/she very much likes the sound of his/her written voice and also throwing in objectionable comments about other groups. Perhaps to get attention from decent people's disapproval of such a bigoted attitude.

It's better not to engage with "Hound."

Skitealwedrop's avatar

I understand. Thank you Nancy.

John LeBaron's avatar

It’s uncanny. If we take the 2nd paragraph of this newsletter and substitute "USA" for "Hungary" wherever it appears, the narrative still rings quite true.

Merry's avatar

My reaction as well. We’re suddenly being confronted by the most devious, lawless, dangerous president - along with his thoroughly corrupt gang of thugs and thieves in US history. And yes, clearly trump is following the Orban / Putin rule book.

The future of our nation, and possibly even the entire world, is at stake right now.

And, as Mary has warned us, trump’s malignant narcissistic psychopathic personality disorder is in overdrive and on full display. He’s an exceedingly vindictive, hateful, broken man who HATES to lose, and it’s obvious that he will stop at NOTHING to maintain his power and control. Including destroying everything and everyone around him, even burn the f*cking world down.

If we are to endure, we must stand united, strong and diligent against this monstrous devil incarnate.

Hear hear! 👏👏👏

Kay Vallejo's avatar

So true! Did you know Donald's asset association with Putin and Kim Jung Un?

I'm sure you've heard the name Krasnov, right?

Merry's avatar

Yes. It’s been rumored for decades that Trump had been pursued by, then imbedded in KGB intelligence for decades. And I certainly believe it’s true, particularly now, at this point, and given what we know. In fact, I’d even dare say that Trump is more “Russian” than he is American, due to Ivana’s influence.

(And I also believe that Ivana’s “death from injuries she sustained accidentally falling down the stairs” was utter BS, considering everything Ivana knew about him…)

Interesting article by The Guardian from 2021…a few excerpts -

“The perfect target’: Russia cultivated Trump as asset for 40 years – ex-KGB spy”

“Donald Trump was cultivated as a Russian asset over 40 years and proved so willing to parrot anti-western propaganda that there were celebrations in Moscow, a former KGB spy has told the Guardian.”

“Yuri Shvets, posted to Washington by the Soviet Union in the 1980s, compares the former US president to “the Cambridge five”, the British spy ring that passed secrets to Moscow during the second world war and early cold war.”

“Unger describes how Trump first appeared on the Russians’ radar in 1977 when he married his first wife, Ivana Zelnickova, a Czech model. Trump became the target of a spying operation overseen by Czechoslovakia’s intelligence service in cooperation with the KGB.

“Three years later Trump opened his first big property development, the Grand Hyatt New York hotel near Grand Central station. Trump bought 200 television sets for the hotel from Semyon Kislin, a Soviet émigré who co-owned Joy-Lud electronics on Fifth Avenue.

“According to Shvets, Joy-Lud was controlled by the KGB and Kislin worked as a so-called “spotter agent” who identified Trump, a young businessman on the rise, as a potential asset. Kislin denies that he had a relationship with the KGB.

“Then, in 1987, Trump and Ivana visited Moscow and St Petersburg for the first time. Shvets said he was fed KGB talking points and flattered by KGB operatives who floated the idea that he should go into politics.”

“It was unprecedented. I am pretty well familiar with KGB active measures starting in the early 70s and 80s, and then afterwards with Russia active measures, and I haven’t heard anything like that or anything similar – until Trump became the president of this country – because it was just silly. It was hard to believe that somebody would publish it under his name and that it will impress real serious people in the west but it did and, finally, this guy became the president.”

Trump’s election win in 2016 was again welcomed by Moscow. Special counsel Robert Mueller did not establish a conspiracy between members of the Trump campaign and the Russians. But the Moscow Project, an initiative of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, found the Trump campaign and transition team had at least 272 known contacts and at least 38 known meetings with Russia-linked operatives.”

“Trump was the perfect target in a lot of ways: his vanity, narcissism made him a natural target to recruit. He was cultivated over a 40-year period, right up through his election.” -#1

And this -

“The most recent [info], in February, was spread by Alnur Mussayev, a former KGB officer from Kazakhstan. He said on Facebook that Trump was signed up in Moscow in 1987 under the codename "Krasnov". Trump visited Moscow that year, and he would have been under KGB surveillance. There have also been claims from Czech defectors that Czechoslovakian intelligence mounted an extensive spying operation on Trump, together with "friends" from the KGB, after he married a Czech model, Ivana Zelníková, in 1977.” -#2

I really want this to be a defining moment in the history of global politics.

People are no longer willing to accept this reality because it is no longer sustainable.

Please interview Dr. Bandy Lee, Harvard professor and Chair of the World Mental Health Coalition about her youtube video: "Emergency Psychiatric Meeting 4/10/26" where she announces her letter to the four living former presidents requesting that they notify the military not to follow Trump's illegal orders. This is crucial information for your viewers.

Candace's avatar

I will look this up right now. I have wondered if the four of them are taking action behind the scenes.

We're watching this closely as a likely preview of what to expect in November. One Big Beautiful Blue Tsunami - with the GOP doing everything they can to cheat.

Beth Peters's avatar

Hoping Orban doesn't illegally screw up the election. Prayers to the Hungarian people.

Merry's avatar

That may be the primary concern. We know that Trump has been extremely busy, rewriting history, and still claiming that the 2020 election was stolen from him.

And he’s certainly been trying to rig the midterms elections, even take full control of them.

Beth Peters's avatar

Yes, I agree with you. He's failing both physically and mentally everyday. His cabinet continues to prop him up while they continue with their Project 2025, while the GOP in SCOTUS, Senate and Congress keep rolling over and rubber stamping everything for him.

Merry's avatar

Yeah, it’s like watching a Weekend at Bernie’s!

It’s exhausting! Reminds me of Reece Witherspoon in this scene from the Morning Show on Apple TV!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Taj3j5KxPRs

Beth Peters's avatar

Yes, I remember! Trump is exhausting with his everyday rants, chaos, distractions, etc. I'm sure this is his plan too since he craves so much attention. Such an insecure, low self-esteem little man.

Hard to keep up with all his crap, but try to on a daily basis bc it changes so often.

Merry's avatar

Agree. I’ve been a political junkie since the JFK assassination, even tho I was only 13 years old at the time. I was glued to the TV and I was truly horrified and deeply saddened by it. And baffled as well, because the “stories being reported on the news simply didn’t make any sense to me. Something was “off”.

And we know that Trump intentionally uses chaos and confusion as part of his MO, specifically to wear us down and exhaust us. But I also know that it’s my responsibility to stay informed about and actively engaged in what’s happening. In fact it’s essential, imperative that we do so.

Beth Peters's avatar

I had just turned 8 when JFK was assassinated and remember watching Jack Ruby shoot Lee Harvey Oswald. Then MLK, RFK and the Democratic Convention in Chicago with the protests/riots all in 1968 right before I turned 12 (I grew up in suburban Chicago), so I also started paying attention to politics. Of course back then we had "Civics" class in high school too, so we had to pay attention.

So yes, it's our responsibility to stay informed.

May those of us who recognize that we can do something stand up against the autocratic regime in America!!

If Orban “wins” then you all may finally see/admit he stole 24 and that WE CANNOT WAIT FOR MID TERMS! Even if we sweep and can impeach he will not leave there is going to be chaos & violence either way

David Maceira's avatar

If Orban loses I'm wondering how many seconds or minutes passes before he claims voter fraud.

And if he wins has Elon been seen hanging out in Hungary lately.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

Elon doesn’t have to hang out in Hungary. He has lots of DOGE personnel that will do the manipulating for him.

David Maceira's avatar

Like stealing peoples Social Security information. Which is a federal crime.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

It’s interesting that the DOGE worker that stole our social security information hasn’t been named. As far as I know the person isn’t being investigated.

David Maceira's avatar

Once that information gets out there will be no place for them to hide.

Skitealwedrop's avatar

Who is to blame for not releasing the information of those responsible for the crimes against millions of Americans? The orange pedo and his gang? SSA DOJ FBI?

Dear Bubbie's avatar

Major respect and props to you for using your voice for a world's good. You're not 'just a blogger' or 'influencer' - you are making a difference. Now we know two more things that JD sucks at: campaigning and negotiating. Wouldn’t it be smart to send in someone who actually has negotiation training? Oh that’s right, no one in this administration is smart.
