And now he selected the most extreme most hateful evil person on his staff to be CHIEF OF STAFF!!!

Yep. He did. But you know what I’m thinking… it’s no better or worse than any other position for him.. they don’t follow rules … no such thing as an actual “job description “ so he is just visiting his particular brand of awfulness and disgustingness and lawfulness … on theoretically this department now. Can’t WAIT for his pitiful self to be brought to justice!!

Thank you for saying all this. We are ready to start again, in all seriousness, as we need to bring about changes.

Miller as Chief of staff? OMG ‼️

Just another theoretical “ job description “ he won’t follow or adhere to ..: he is quietly doing what he bet the frick his felon/ rapist boss wants hi to; no matter what dept he in “ change he” of. It’s terrible ; agreed .

I would love to believe this as a UK citizen who once saw the US as a strong ally with principles. However I can’t help thinking had Trump not gone to war with Iran and gas and other prices hadn’t risen would people have still voted for the Democrats ignoring all the other travesties that were taking place.

A good question, and one whose answer could very well have been that the Republicans would prevail. Americans, and I am one, don’t seem to see the big picture, only the puzzle piece that affects them directly. The sane among us saw what he is and what he represents from 2015, but it was like shouting into the wind to try to make people listen. Now, the majority has the mandate to right this sinking ship of state, and I hope we succeed.

Me too Cynthia - my son lives in Texas.

Thanks, Mary, for trying to warn us about your uncle. It was a brave and responsible thing to do. I'm so sorry it took so long to get the job done, but it finally has happened. You must feel so relieved. I certainly do.

Thank you, Mary. I believe with the fresh new blood coming into the Congress this Congress will work on behalf of the people of their states and this nation.

Amen! Thanks for summarizing why many Americans voted against them

There were a lot of reasons why the voters created a blue tsunami. My opinion is that Republicans got their asses whooped because they lacked the courage to hold a rogue, criminal president accountable for his actions. So, We the People had to do it for them.

It was a beautiful thing.

What an incredible catalogue of the sins of the Trump Administration. You nailed each & every horrific offense of this toxic fascism. How nice it would be if Dr. Mary Trump would run for political office against her cousins, Eric & Don, Jr. to redeem the Trump family name.

I believe many many voters were fed up with the constant hatefulness coming from this administration . My god how can these politicians serving the people under the Constitution have so much hate in their minds 😡 None of them stood up and said enough is enough. Blessings to all the voters who did stand up and say enough is enough . 👍❤️

But it isn’t over. He will ignore congress and the will of the people, and double down on cruelty and destruction. I’m so relieved to see that most Americans citizens care, but we haven’t stopped him yet. He still controls the justice department.

Now, Mary, there's one more big move the Dems in Congress need to make -- pick new leaders in the House and Senate. Schumer is too old and Jeffries can't be trusted to carry the fight forward. The comments from readers across every election story/commentary I've been reading for the past 2 days are saying the same thing. New leadership is a must. The old days are gone.

Thank you for an excellent essay, Mary! Long, but succinct about the numerous wounds inflicted on the country that must be healed. I hope there's a lot of momentum in the country now to make things better.

66 million. Estimates are that 119 million voted. That works out to be about a 47% turnout. Thats entirely consistent with past midterms. There are about 70 million Dems, about the same Rep and about 125 million independents.

Stats are not yet out about who voted so let’s wait see why Dems won. I suspect it was because Dems came out and Rep and Ind didnt
